Is she ready to harvest?

Just not sure? Her orange pistols have tightened up. I really can’t seee anything on the mag glass, my eyes are shot lol.
Was also considering a partial harvest, allow lower buds more time to mature. I know it’s not common practice, but likeeeee whyyyyy not?

Snip 1 off to sample and when it’s dry enough to smoke then u chop the rest. You can bend the branch’s to let the 2ndary buds get more light.

and do a slow dry so you can get the full flavor.

I'm doing the same thing...snipping a branch to sample. More because I am about out of weed...I know mine need 2 more weeks.

Hahah glad i didn’t get ahead of myself and start choppppin her up. indoor grows always looks ready compared to outdoor grows

Thankssss for the welcome. This is my third time growing. Finally had some good seeds. My first grow was indoor and hermied out right before maturity my second grow was meant to be indoors until a blackout forced my plants out to the real world (in pots on my deck) this time I’ve got a tent full of girls in flower; most of them behind the one in the post, and a handful directly planted in the ground (TREEES??? who wouldaaa known)

finally dialing int to my ability to grow.

Cut the plant. Hang upside down, observe temp and humidity. I like to have lots of wins for the first days, afraid of mold. But not blowing directly on the branches. You want the drying to take 2 weeks!

60 degrees/60% humidity for 10-14 days.

Most important part of drying is putting em in jars at the rt time. When u can't get optimal drying conditions 60rh/60°f atleast take em down before they are to dry but not to much moisture either. I dry at 50rh/72°F cus that's were my house sits with no hassle. I go 7 to 14 days depending on moisture in plant. The timing can elevate or ruin some bud. Go by the plant and only use the guidelines for reference.

Use your scale to know when to jar them. Weigh a nice cut everyday til it stops losing weight, then its dry.

I chopped her down today.

i can’t get my drying tent to go under 88rh rn ‍‍ just been so humid all summer, i even have a dehumidifier going. I’m going to pop a pan of cat litter in there to try to absorb moisture. But the buds are more moist now than before i hung them SMH.

It’s really humid moist out this year. I am used to growing in 45% now it’s 80%. I had 4 buds I had to cut from rot. Now I’m drying and it’s been 2 weeks! Still not dry. But I guess that’s a good thing.

Use a small fan to move the air

I am notorious for pulling plants early, and even I'd say wait on that. Couple weeks at least.

What I do for drying:

I hang my plants in the lung room, on a tension rod. I set a fan on the floor in front of my buds, aiming AWAY from the buds; my thought is, it pulls in air thru the back of the fan which has to pass by the buds to get there, and then no direct breeze is hitting any plant material.

I have one going in there, it’s on the top, I’ve got it set as if it was a ceiling fan.

Temp is staying at solid 60-62, so i hope that helps.

I trim all fan leaves and maybe some sugar ones to get closer to the buds. I cut branches and leave the buds on and hang in a closet on coathangers. Branch nodes are great to hook on the hangers, plus I think it helps to leave buds on the branch until jarring time so they don't dry so fast.

I guess things are pretty dry in NorCal, I can't leave them hanging in the closet with the door closed more than a few days or they get crispy. Then I get paper grocery store bags, stick some branches in them and roll top of the bag shut and stick in a dark cubby somewhere. Gotta take them out everyday, open the bag, rearrange the branches and let air out for a bit, then roll up and stash again. This helps slow drying until they are good to cut off the buds and jar, but even so, if I don't keep on top of this the buds will dry up.
