I’m trying to find an answer. I have a current culture system with 400 gallons in res. Some of the plants are starting to show a little brown to the roots. I know it’s an early case of root rot but I would like to catch it before it explodes. I have added uc roots which is from the current culture line to help battle and keep reservoirs/water sterile. I have seen other people’s setups using 68°F water temps with a lot of success but that seems to be too warm. Any help is appreciated...

Have you ever had it come in from cold tap water like a shock ? I’ve been doing a lot of research and figured out that MAY have been the issue. I turned the chiller up.

I run 64F to 66F no issues in res with a chiller. As for tap I let the chlorine dissipate 24 hours so calcium doesn't get locked out, this is something new growers can run into if your tap is high in chlorine. Running a shock or anti bacterial solutions insures zero issues with your system or roots.

If you try to duplicate mother nature, seeds germinate in the spring grow biggest during summer, then fruit during fall

Check the general temperatures during these times and see what happens

When I said res I meant my system holds 400 gallons. i added more of the uc roots which is just diluted pool shock yesterday and added the rest of the reccomeneded dosage just a few min ago. When I checked the roots the brown bacteria seemed to already be dying off which is good as of now. I turned my chiller up to 64°F as well. Gonna see how the next couple days go as I plan to flower in a week.

*edit* I also meant to include I don’t really have space to add a 400 gal res to let the water off gas but after this run I may include something like that with a bad ass ro filter with uv to.
