He needs lawyer ASAP. The least the lawyer can do is work a plea so that he spends the least time in jail. On the other hand, the lawyer might be able to argue him out of anything other than a slap on the wrist. The poll here means nothing, he has to play his cards in the courts for the real answer.

Yeah - I don't get it. Someone asks for advice, or opinions and you give it to them straight and then they say "just didnt know people talked like that on a site like this" And you took that kind of personal anyways... your "friend" wouldn't be YOU by any chance now, would it?

Let me get this straight: Your buddy was a (backseat?) passenger in this chick's car. They get pulled over for something (what were they pulled over for?) and she consents to a search of her car including the glove box where the dope is found. Her other friend admits that the dope was his, lucky for her. Then the two dudes go to jail. Do I have it correct up to now?

This makes no sense to me at all. How can two people be charged with possession of the same bag of weed?

POSSESSION - A person has possession of something if the person knows of its presence and has physical control of it, or has the power and intention to control it. [More than one person can be in possession of something if each knows of its presence and has the power and intention to control it.]

WTF? There's something missing from this story. If anything, she and the other dude should have gone down and her car impounded. Your buddy should have been left to walk home. Your buddy is not coming clean with you.

Yes he (my friend) was in the back set and he was the only one taken to jail, but thats cuz he had a warrant for missing court. He didnt have the 40 bux to move the court date after missing the 1st one....

I dont know man, my buddy just said "you got the internet, see if this has happened to anyone else" so thats what im doing....

Ah HA!!!~~

He didn't go to jail for possession, it was for an outstanding warrant! Now the truth is told.

He's fucked. He might even be less fucked if he lied and copped to the dope instead of having the outstanding warrant.

I hope the gavel has mercy on his ass. As well as the other inmates.

This dude is well past the moron stage. Please correct me if I have my facts wrong:

He fucked up so bad at home that his parents kicked him out on his ass.
He was out there so long that he resorted to stealing and got caught.
He did jail time and was told to stay out of trouble.
He missed a court date and rescheduled.
He missed the rescheduled court date and a bench warrant was issued.

The fact that his fugitive ass was re-arrested in a car where dope was found only makes things worse. He had a shot at probation and screwed it up. Maybe a year or two of living with the pros will open his eyes, if not his asshole.
