Hi guys, this will probably be my last thread before I grow again as harvest time is near, so I’d just like to thank everyone for their help thus far :)

I’ve come back from a wedding in Italy and even though I assumed it had a week left, the pistils on top are all brown. Is it time for me to harvest? I have a magnifying glass but it’s not good enough to see if the trichomes are cloudy or not. The bottom part has a little less brown than the top, but still about 60/40.

P.S. Yes the buds are small but it was to be expected with the weather this summer.

Thanks!

Calyx not swollen, not ready. You have time to get a cheap scope so you can gauge trichome development.
To be honest I don’t think the calyx is going to enlarge anywhere at all. When I say my buds are small, I mean they’re small. It can’t be compared to a normal grow. The example pictures I see online show that harvest is ready when the pistils coming out of the calyx are dark brown.
I’ll leave it for a couple more days and then check again.
Thanks~

Pistil color is not a good ripeness indicator in my experience. While it is true you do not harvest when they are white, it does not mean your buds are ripe when they brown. They can darken prematurely for a number of reasons. Zooming in on your pic, I'm seeing roughly 40% cloudy, 0% amber. Hold off as long as you can, good luck!

I wait until there are visible amber trichomes. I can see them under magnification, but I can see them in the right lighting with the naked eye also. If I see over ripe trichomes then I assume the others must be ripe.

I ordered a jewellers loupe so I’ll double check under that. Thanks a bunch, that makes sense :)
