Is it possible to root clones with no powder/gel

Hey there, being the off season, and not realy having to much money to order gel/powder off the internet, is there anyway to root clones without dipping them in shit, like bare bones organic shit you know?

you can do it without. it may not be as successful, but you should be able to get some to root.

it takes a lot longer to root but yes it will, but your success rate will be low.. better to root with a rooting compound.. good luck

Yup, I never use rooting hormones. I have them, but dont use them. I just use water. And actually so far, none of the clones I've done this way have died and all of them have rooted in about a week and a half.

I have decent luck planting cuttings straight into my fake dirt. I then water with a tiny bit of H&G root excelerator. No dome. Rooms stays 60% humidity. Works for me.

Another member on here, mogie, has all kinds of cloning methods. One simply puts the cutting in water.

Seen all kinds. I think another member on here uses an ez-cloner and no rooting hormones, just water.

From what I have seen, seems like without rooting hormones, it takes a bit longer to root, but it works for some people!

Get a bottle of Bayer aspirin, crush them up to make a powder. Organic cloning powder for cheap. Or if you have any Willow trees around you can make a tea from the bark. Both basically salicyllic acid.

edit: be sure to get the 'uncoated' type. Not sure if the coating would hurt but I dont take the chance.........

You can root into straight water...

those pics are a week old they are completley different plants now!

You can clone a flowering plant but it can take awhile for the clones too root. And your success rate will probally decrease some. Although I am not big on cloning flowering plants.

I've seen several people root cuttings by by simply dropping them into a plastic 16oz party cup and let 'em go. I took cuttings after 1 week of flower and got about 75% success but I used rootone powder in soil.

Ya and I forgot about Shultzs cloning powder you can get a Wally World. Cheap and works just as good as Clonex IMO.....

I've seen Greenlight rooting hormone powder for about $6 also.

i picked up some wilson roots root stimulator and got 2 cutting of each of my plants, so 4 in total and 2 were dead by morning , i did everything on every guide for cloning in soil, and the tips where i cut were all dried up while the clones themselves look over watered or just wilted what the fuck did i do?!??!?!?!?

You can certainly clone without gel or powder. You can even clone a flowering plant...I have done it twice...during my first grow I had one female plant going and wanted more but seemed like every seed I planted was male...after male...after male...and then I happened along someone talking about cloning a flowering plant...so I did it...it worked. Took quite awhile for the clones to actually start growing but grow they did...all's well that ends well I guess...

I have great luck rooting straight into coco, with nothing but a 5 minute soak in mild liquid karma solution than into cups of coco. If it seems like the leaves wilt up real fast try a AT spray. If the stems turn mushy they are either being over watered or something is not sterile in the process(leading cause of failing clones IMO is dirty blades and fingers, provided the enviromental conditions are correct)

The first way is easy with an EZ Clone machine. Yes, plain water works eventually on most of the clones. Also, "Rapid rooters"/"ihort rooters" are organic and made from willow bark and work reasonably well without any type of rooting solution. I hope this helps.

Cloning gel is only a small fraction of a percent rooting hormone. I know some people want to grow organic very badly, but really- it's 99.7% NOT synthetic hormone.
