is it ok to grow within 1000 feet of a school zone? at least according to state law. completely private between me and my patients, nothing like a dispensary.

Sure, as long as you don't get caught. Otherwise, it's generally a 5 year manditory minimum sentence. Should be no problem for someone as bright as you! LOL

Finding a place tat's not 1000 feet from a school in an urban area is pretty hard to do, schools have to be close that's the point. I doubt I have ever lived tat far from one, especially if you consider a preschool/daycare or a home-school a school. I don't worry about it personally, it's not like I'm over at the school selling drugs and my address is registered with the state as a caregiver, so I guss tecnically they could come for me, I'm not hiding anything. I try to follow the laws as much as I can, but I can't physically move my home, and how would that work if I bught a house secifically because it wasn't by a school and then they build a school after the fact? It's just not a resonable expectation to me, if I ever get in trouble for it, I guess I'll have to do my time, but again it's not like any school child is at risk because of my personal garden or that they could even see it or be exposed to it. I wonder if I could find a dispensary or massive legal garden within 1000 feet of a school, I bet I could easy.

I think you aren't supposed to, but if you are small enough(only grow for yourself and not even to the full amount) you should have nothing to worry about.

2 patient grow. completely private. i would think it would even be considered non profit. i dont charge patients any money unless its coming from another caregiver in which case i charge the same price so no profit to me.

the only thing i make is i get a cut every harvest to sell to other patients/caregivers but thats for my labor and to pay for equipment. works out great so far. my patients love the free weed.

^^^ yeah that ^^^ even in public policy... it isn't a 'problem' until someone calls it as such!

Surprised there is so much "i think" to a legal question... facts... if you are consistent w the State laws, you are legal to conduct yourself within your personal home... don't matter if it is next door to the local DA's mom's house... that shelters runaway abused teens... and day cares for the local toddlers.

Now, if you are doing something outside of the State laws, then you are usually subject to an aggrevated count of whichever law they are prosecuting you under... usually means a doubling of all sentancing, but that depends on the local statutes, or which jurisdiction is prosecuting.

Rather than ask a bunch of stoners on the internet... for such serious legal concerns... you might want to actually ask a lawyer that practices in this arena. Be safe(r) bro! ;-)

its all cool. guy i met has a small setup in his basement, also in a school zone. the neighbors called the cops because they could smell it. the detective came and my friend showed his garden and paperwork and probably card too. i dont know the exact words but the cop basically said ok you got your paperwork we're good to go. he also mentioned about being in a school zone and how its kind of a gray area but said they're not concerned about it. also the guy is a regular joe, doesnt get in trouble, doesnt sell to kids, that type of thing.

also the school zone thing is a federal law. i dont think its anything to do with legal grows. i think its one of those things, where if feds bust you, they slap on that extra school zone violation charge. fbi even seen my state legal grow which was in a school zone, from an unrelated crime not involving me or my patient. they we're cool and actually gave my garden some compliments. i actually feel like im living in a free country. btw i dont charge my patients for stuff i grow, only stuff i get from other caregivers.

so in conclusion if you have a small legal grow, you shouldnt worry. no guarantees though. dispensary, co-op, or something big time, i wouldnt push it in that case. be safe and happy growing to all!
