In Canada...
Is it illegal to have a male marijuana plant, just used as a decorative house plant? I know there are hemp farmers, but i don't know if they need a certain license or need to be registered or something in order to make the plants legal. If anyone could please give me a link to where I could find an answer, or let me know if you've got the answer yourself.

yeah, most people just turn their heads when it comes to marijuana, but if a cop was to drive by and see a male marijuana plant proudly displayed in a front window, the cop would still check it out. I don't plan on doing this, just a question out of interest

Thats actually a good question. Male plants barley get any THC. So is it illegal to have marijuana plant that produces only pollen??? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I wish I could have my bonzai mothers out as ornamental plants instead of being hidden away. Such a shame.

A male plant is still of the family of cannabis, and I dont believe they make the distinction between male and female. Seeing the bullshit and lies out there from gov / law enforcment I dont think they even really care about the difference. And why would they pass up a chance to prosecute somebody for marijuana growing, even a male, after all there is probobly a rapist or murderer getting out of prison soon and they need that spot filled at all cost.

Keep in mind even purely hemp plants need a permit to be grown in Canada. So it would be illegal and the cops can and will bust you for it. I wish we were a lot more forward thinking then we are. Damn Conservatives. Legalize it...

same exact laws apply to male and female plants....there is no way to know your only gonna grow males so they are all the same in the eyes of the law...as far as the cops are concerned you can make hash and cookies and shit with males also.

Simple answer,NO it is not Legal to grow Any kind of Cannabis Male or other wise. Hemp is NOT cannabis so the male Cannabis plant would not qualify as a hemp plant despite what many may think.

Where?? It depends on the place as to the way the laws are worded.. Classifying something as either hemp or cannabis is kind of pointless if the laws don't differentiate between the two, or list compounds common to both in the legislation..
