is hps bulb dangerous?

what r the reasons would cause hps bulb to blow up?.......tks

Hot re-starts, dirty glass, being knocked about, incorrect/unstable power supply and burning out can all cause them to pop.

I've gone through three in three months!

3 in 3 months?...so u should have the experience with this blow up thing......when it happn....does it cause fire ?....or anything?

they pop! dont get water on a hot bulb either. mist your plants outside your grow area

have you been wiping the bulb clean after touching it with your bare hands?

generally no, hps bulbs are not dangerous, the way the operator handles them could be though.

Mine were caused by hot-restarts I think, two lights and both bulbs went at the same time (luckily only one shattered)

The first bulb I had blow before them nearly started a fire!(pics in my album) I guess using cardboard for insulation under the trays wasn't so smart after all!
