Is Gay Marriage Really That Big Deal?

I see your point.

However, if all people are "given" (forced) the ability to seek government permission in the first place to declare themselves married, isn't the equality they would be sharing one of equal subservience, rather than equal freedom?
Sadly doesn't work like that tho, therefore to achieve equal rights for gay people we have to engage with the State.

You can want things to change, however that is irrelevant to this topic as it stands (Yet not irrelevant in the broader context of freedom).

Again, I see your point, and you're right, it doesn't occur that way in the present....because people are not free.

Of course "having to engage the state" provides self evidence of the lack of freedom.

Slaves had to ask their masters for permission to jump the broom (get married) didn't they?

They can believe whatever they want in their tiny, unevolved brains.

But denying any citizen equal rights under the law is what a facist does.

Why are you a facist?

Denying citizens equal Rights is not this topic. Marriage or benefits for it, are not even Rights or laws. So equal treatment for,....

You keep saying things off topic as if it is relevant. Anyone can believe what they please, nobody died and made gay`s the boss.

Oh ya, let`s take our beliefs to the SCOTUS, and anything else we can think of.

You believe what you want, but if you deny a citizen equal rights under the law based purely on who they go to bed with at night then you're causing a demonstrable harm and inequity.

Noone gives a shit that you're an ass hole with homophobic thoughts, you're perfectly entitled to your opinion but that doesn't make it true.

If you want to deny people marriage rights/benefits, then you deny EVERYONE those benefits/rights and not just the ones your little boy diddling preacher disapproves of.

In your world there are no limitations, qualifications, stipulations, or any kind of "they can you can`t". Being Gay has no kind of Power in my world, neither does religion or any other cult, Army or God.

People gonna share my wife now ? People gonna f` my kids now cuz everyone`s feelings are equally respected by a law?

You need to come to terms with "Some can and some can`t", or "Some will and some wont", or "they can and you can`t".

The Gay "war cry" was generated by "hurt feelings", to which I say,.....so what !

Feelings have nothing to do with it, your retarded homophobic spittle-flecked rants miss the point again.

You cannot give a right to one section of the citizens and not the rest.

That is a de-facto apartheid.

You never think it's weird that Christians denounce gay people while their male clerics are fucking little boys?

No-one is talking about a fucking Right you dipshit. I`m talking about Marriage and Benefit Incentives. So who gave who a fucking Right that you just posted ?

Look, before there was Gay marriage, there was man and woman marriage, so why would someone write the incentive any other way to include a marriage that isn`t there? The SCOTUS changed the wording with a Court command, that`s not their fucking job, and the case is not even in their Jurisdiction.

So what`s the fucking reason for wanting to do that, Gay power of some kind that creates a marriage and demands you share yours with it ? No, it`s hurt feelings.......

The right to marry in the same way as heterosexual couples.

Is English your first language?

You seem to just rape it constantly to suit your twisted, homophobic views.

Heterosexuals don`t have a Right to marry. I see your problem, but you don`t. You wanna say access to their incentives, but know that`s infringement.

Marry in the same way as heterosexual couples is the best one can say though......

Seriously, man. You don't know a goddamn thing about federal law, how the Supreme Court works, what a 'right' is, what, 'equality' means or how to use basic grammar or punctuation

Why do you insist on making yourself look like a fool?

We've established the civil rights act of 1964 guarantees ALL CITIZENS equal protection under the law. Marriage is a LEGAL INSTITUTION. Therefore, the right of marriage is GUARANTEED TO ALL CITIZENS UNDER THE LAW.

The Supreme Court's job is to decide on federal court cases that apply to the entire nation, from coast to coast including Hawaii, Alaska and all US territories abroad. Everything American is subject to federal decisions. That means you can't discriminate against a black guy in Austin, Detroit, NY, DC, LA, etc. the exact same way you can't discriminate against a gay guy in any of those places.

You think "rights" are only those protected by the US Constitution?

You're literally hopeless, you should try using a hair dryer in the bath soon.

i never had to seek permission. we just filled out a piece of paper. took about a minute.

nice attempt at raping the language once again though. you're so well practiced at it that you can describe selling stuff to people as rape and paying little kids for sex as voluntary.

no one buys your shit, mind you. but you are well developed at raping the language anyway.

Equal protection under the law means they get it should the law be written,....Well laws are written now that recognize same sex as a marriage, that`s covered in my State now, it does not mean access to all incentives, it means they can`t deny the license. But you want it to.
The SCOUTUS has one job, to determine if the Federal law in question brought before them by the federal Court is or is not Constitutional. Which is covering all 50 States. I needed you to tell me that.......
