I had just bought some AntOut ant killer dust specified for ants but it just contains diatomaceous earth and couple food grade attractants so i figured it be good for other critters as well. Which I have plenty of different kinds of attacking my girls daily so my question is, Is diatomaceous earth only good/meant for applying on top soil around plants or can I apply a light coating of this stuff on my plants/leaves themselves to get all the ants, aphids, beetles, spittlebugs and any other random critters that decide to chill on and fuck with my girls?
my plants are outdoors in ground and all in veg mode but couple are starting to show signs of preflower

Food grade DE is safe to apply directly to most all plants

DE is typically the inactive ingredent in 'plant powders' like sevin and pythrum

Just go lightly those hand squeze bottle applyers usually put out a very heavy coating blocking light and killing the follage
Thanks for the feedback and yeah I switched it to a salt shaker but it still came out heavier than wanted. Im sure it fine but hopefully I didn't block to much light or damage foliage. Its also been over couple days so im going to go check on their condition of them and progress of getting rid of these ants & aphids

My Fungus Gnats seem to love DE...
like playin' on the beach.......
Haha for real? And you have the really fine powder like DE, not the larger granules? That is crazy, my fungus gnats roll around in it dying, trying to escape, then they go bye bye.

get a mask and put a pile of DE on the ground then hit it with a leaf blower it will smoke cloud the whole batch and everything around it.
