is dabbing vaporizing or smoking?

I dont know the actuall effects of high thc contents with an unborn, but trying to find out with your own child is bat shit crazy. If she really must, then use regular weed,on a vaporizer no more than 400f.

I fully understand the theory of vaping and the science behind it but what i am saying is that in reality that is not what is happening. It is combustion. Nobody would have the patience for truly vaping and that is why the products sold dont truly vaporize. They work on combustion to satisfy the customer but they are sold on the false pretence of vaporizing.
Combustion involves a fuel and an oxidant, typically oxygen.

Vapor is an un-oxidized gas produced by a liquid over its boiling point.

At atmospheric pressure, you can never heat a liquid above its boiling point, even on a hotter surface.

Unless you heat the vapor to the point that it combines with oxygen to turn the organic vapor to CO2, it is not combustion.

If you have scientific data refuting those points, may we see them?

I dont dab.

Heating a nail to red hot as i have seen so much on the interweb is far beyond the temp needed for combustion. Vaporizors like the volcano are the same.

Make no mistake... it is combustion. Also, the temp required to change thca in the trichs to psychoactive thc is far above combustion temp to. If you dont combust you dont get high. It is that simple.
The temperature needed to decarboxylate is significantly below combustion temperature.

No i dont. But that is exactly what is happening with so called vaporizers and the nails and bowls used for dabbing. Combustion does not require a flame.

Thanks for making my point.

I dont know how to be more clear. The so called vaporizers and nails and bowls being used to "vaporize" are heating the trichs way past boiling to combustion, as you described so well.

Test some. I have. The steel and titanium of "nails" being heated to red hot are well past 1200f or even far more....far past the boiling point of trichs at 300f ish. Try heating a nail to just 300f...and if you can do that drop a dab on it and see what happens.

Same goes for the pens that use elements. They heat far past the boiling point AND combustion point of trichs. While they may not burn bud completely they do fine for trich conbustion.

Try to find a method of truly vaporizing your wax or shatter or oil or bud or whatever. Whta youll find is that it is far too much trouble to maintain that 3xact heat for long enough to vaporize the truchs. Just easier to burn it and smoke it....which is what veverybody is doing right now.

I do low temp dabs at 350-450*F on the nail measured by IR thermometer that tested to be within +/-7*F by a NIST calibrated thermometer. I run my solo and xtreme herb vaporizers at 375 never gets roasted. nothing is ever red hot even my e nail coil doesn't get red hot. Smh you need more experience with the topic and that is very obvious. Yes digital displays can show inaccurate temps on nails and vape units but as stated before correct temperature gaseous evolution aka vaporization. By your way of thinking water never vaporizes and only combusts, distilling is not possible, and all these guys making rosin dabs are just lying. Lol also combustion typically releases light as a byproduct of accelerated oxidation. Now don't even try saying a red hot nail is light generation either.

Interesting... i didnt know they had IR thermometers that measured that high. They must be super expensive...

Alright, that either proves you're a troll who's bored or that you've been living under a rock. IR incapable of accurately measuring up to my stated 450*F....? LOL You sir are hilarious.

I think you are being clear, I just don't agree.

Heating them to red first, doesn't mean they were that hot when dabbed.

Putting oil on a hot surface at atmospheric pressure, won't raise it above its boiling point.

If the temperature is above its combustion point, it will subsequently ignite the vapor generated, which certainly doesn't happen with our electric nail that never even gets red, or even our standard VO Domeless nail with torch, which does, but isn't when we dab oil in it. Where is the flame and light?

On another note, heating in the presence of oxygen does speed up the rate of oxidation, but not dramatically at the time at temperatures involved, so if that is what you are hanging your hat on, may I suggest you use the word oxidation, rather than combustion, so as to not confuse your argument?

Absolutely false.

And...Flame is not required for combustion.

You are grasping.

Brothers- it's Friday and I love you all!!

I hope you all have some choice smoke, regardless of how ingested. I hope the weather's great and you have memorable weekends - all of you

There's no question in my mind that if we were all together we would all be toking and laughing. The Internet really doesn't encourage brotherhood, but face-to-face interaction surely does.

Vaping = inhaling volatile fractions of the substance while heating it BELOW the point of combustion.

Smoking = inhaling combustion products of a substance while heating it ABOVE the point of combustion.

How cherry red hot do you get your dab rig with a BLOWTORCH again?

Debate over.
