Is anyone building DIY COBs with cheaper LED like Lenbo

Just wondering if anyone built any DIY COBs with lower cost LED's versus Cree, Vero, Citizen or Osram. I will now put on my flame retardant suit - so flame away.

Also what would be the cheapest brand you would use? Vero? Thanks.

you generally get what you pay for, but in any case id stick to reputable manufacturers

those lenbos dont seem like all that great of a deal next to the cheapest brand-name cob in $/lumen, the citizen clu048-1212

its a $12 chip and can do 11,500 lumens at 110W

well on a lumens/$ basis those are actually cheaper than the no-name chips you listed

Nichia also makes some 14mm $10 chips, plus the smaller Veros, especially the new ones. Off-brand China is a bad idea, 100% of the time.

In Colorado, most people will not touch any weed from Mexico and even out of state if they can. The Mexican weed has arsenic, powdery mildew, rat feces, mites, triimers with TB and worse, and other shit and it has been flowered with Hot Shot no pest strips.

Some of the mega grows in CO, CA, WA, OR are the same way as Mexican growers. The stuff sold in dispensaries. Stick with quality Colorado grown product by independent growers. I know some people who worked at big factory grows. They spray up to day of flower with non-organic bug spray and use no pest strips too.

I love your enthusiasm but wish you would paint in a little less broad strokes...

I live in the 503 and have lived in Co,Wa, sorry Cali, nice to visit and collect genetics but not permanently ....cartels are growing in the states and 90% of growers currently spray with non organics anyway.
I would say current commercial growers are just as bad if not worse than Cartel growers. It is changing........

I also don't agree totally with the no name China. I wouldn't ever buy a Mars. period. but i have run no name led drivers for years....and others blew the fuck up on impact.
Its all subjective personally. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

For shit jobs yes. I know a guy I worked with was offered 55k. Also, I was offered much more for Mobil transport.
