Hey Sodalite great pictures, great grow !!! Did you use any nutrients, and if so what and how much did you use please?

Also you mention to grow them inside till their 18" tall, I have read that under 24 hour light they will stay in veg growth. If you were to grow them inside under 24 hour light, keeping them in veg, could you extend the 90 days growth cycle to say 120 days and get a bigger yield?

Thanks.

you get what you pay for. and sometimes you don't even pay. dr. sent me these seeds not knowing who i was just to test them out and send results-pics,thoughts,yeild,what i used that sort of shit. sometimes karma pays. i only had to ask twice nicely and send him some credentials. but yes you do get what you pay for most of the time. my all time faves have all been expensive-LUI,original C-99,original Blueberry,Old Time Moonshine, sweet tooth#3- some of my faves that were not the cheap seeds.
Agree totally with that. Don't like to spend over a 100 on a pack for the unpredictable outdoors. Going with Mr Nice good price and strains. That's sweet they were free all the better.

for 10 Iranian Fems its 150$
femm'd seeds are normally sold in a pack of 5, the Dr obviously disagrees.
most seed companies value 1 femm'd seeds the same as 2 normal seeds.
so 15$ a femm'd seed isnt that pricey..
kinda sketchy putting quality genetics outdoor in some places due to theives but we dont have any of those here :D
and we would vegg the first batch of them in my fellow growers rubbermaid/CFL veg totes.
we can grow about 18-20" plants in the tote system (on 24/0)
then clone these and take them for a hike :D
veg clones to 18" and clone them them walk them out to the patch for the second harvest
and keep the second clones as mothers till next year and see if they flower eventually or if you can just clone your mom and start over?
thanks for the help RIU!

he sends his packs in lots of 11 but lists them as ten. if it is still the same. as for selling femmed seeds in lots of 5 lots of companies sell them in packs of ten. ten seeds is not alot of seeds personally i would purchase bulk packs of good seeds if i could. $150 for ten is maybe a bit of cash if your strapped for it. but it's nothing getting a job, driving less, and quiting cigarretes or if you buy ganja lower your intake. those ten seeds will each pay for themselves 30-40xs over when your done. plus you get some exercise and outdoor expierience. believe me it's well worth it. i pay more for my soil and ferts than i do for my seeds. seeds are the least of my costs when all is said and done.
digging-i had a grow journal in the journal forum it's been a long time since i stopped it but i explained pretty much everything there. i'm not sure how to put a link on or i'd do it. if you can't find it i'll be happy to give you all the info.try looking up my name on the journals it's the only one i ever did. just let me know if you can't find it. there are some things i will be doing differantly with them next time. yea you could grow them over 18" and get bigger plants but one thing i realized is at about that point they start to want to flower they start stretching even with plenty of light. and get taller rather than bushier. when i talked to doc he told me that they get the best results growing them 18" then throwing them outdoors. so i took his info and did just that. i don't think you'll be dissapointed. always grow many kinds anyhow it's no fun to only have one variety.

thanks soda, i remember seeing that he adds an extra seed to each bag. your right about the seed cost being null compared to soil/nutes
a bale of shitty #4 potting mix is 28$ i guess nutes arent going to cost much because i have a nice big compost pile (40+ Gallons) and you said they burn easily so probably no nutes during veg other then compost tea and for bloom probably just some molasses and cal-mag and kelp tea :D
living right beside the ocean is awesome.
we had our first grow last summer and saved the good genetics, we started with bagseed. after having a genetic failure with most of the bagseed (they really didnt want to bloom :P) we bought from Nirvana Ak-48, Blue Mystic, and Swiss Cheese.
lets see what we have..
AK-48
Blue Mystic
Swiss Cheese
Hawaiian
God
Purple White Lightning
Texada Timewarp-green pheno
Skunk-pink pheno
Christmas tree (bagseed pheno)
2 other bagseed pheno
its good to have different flavours :D

Interesting. I was looking at them but wasn't sure how legit it was. Don't mind paying $150 as long as it actually grows how the breeder claims. Glad I stumbled on this thread.

sonar check out my journal it's from this summer but i'm pretty sure you can punch my name in and find it. they are lagit thats for sure. i bought some lowryder#2 x ak47 and those were a joke anyone who says they are good have never grown. not autos are the same i guess. he has a bunch of new crosses with the iranian that he saysare not autos but finish a month or sooner than what it is crosed with. dr.greenthumb is one of the guys who doesn't get alot of rep becouse he doesn't sell through seed companies. he deals with all his own buisiness probly becouse companies fuck everything up. i'm sending him an e-mail today to see what he says about his new stuff.

Cool man thanks I found it. Yeah I thought you looked familiar I remember I was following your raised bed thread back in the summer. How did that work out? Never saw the ISS one though.

Yeah man I grew out some Easy Ryder late last season too. They were ok, but nothing like I was expecting. Think I only yielded like 1 1/2 oz total off the 3 plants. Even though they are outside and natural sunlight is far superior to what can be produced indoors imo, I think the problem with autos outside is the relatively short hours of sunlight. Especially when you do them later in the season when the days are shorter like I did. To be fair, I did have some problems early on. I went on vacation at the last minute when they were only a week or two old and ending up staying 2 days longer than I had planned, so when I came back they were dry and had grown too close to the lights. I'm pretty sure that stunned the growth and hurt me in the end. Another gripe I have is that Easy Ryder goes at least 10 weeks from seed. In that amount of time, I almost could have grown a regular, non auto strain with a 2-3 week veg with a 8-9 flower and yielded much more. Reason I went with Easy Ryder to being with was because the Attitude description said "7 weeks from seed." When the beans arrived, I was checking out the description on the inside of the pack that beans from the Joint Doctor come in and it clearly states "10/11 weeks from seed." The 7 weeks is only the flowering period. I emailed Attitude about the error and they responded but still haven't changed it. Not giving up on the outdoor autos though. Along with some of the new autos out there, I'm particularly interested in the "semi-automatic" strains like ISS. It's nice being able to have fresh smoke in July while the non auto plants are still in veg. The smoke was actually pretty good though. I didn't see any loss in potency compared to a non auto strains and the smell and taste were great too.

EDIT: So Dr. Greenthumb will answer questions regarding germination/growing?

yea sonar thats one of the reasons i don't like to do buisines with attitude. they are real nice untill you buy and have probs with your order then they don't get back to you. happened to me twice over trivial matters nothing to get angry about but they could have fixed it with no big deal. i've done buisiness with many seeds companies over the years and lots of them are out of buisiness. thats the way the seeds buisiness is though i guess. i have tried to leave comments on the descriptions of their seeds and they never put them on. even pretty good descriptions if not the most flattering, the truth. but they censor shit. they are only out to sell seeds to people who don't know better kids and newbees. the wallmart of seed companies, the kind of place you don't want to go but do sometimes that's the way i see them.

When I emailed the good Doctor he said a bigger yield would be enjoyed by starting the seeds outside rather than vegging inside grown to 18" tall here is what the Doc emailed me ...

There are two approaches. Either start indoors and veg until about 12-18 inches tall then set out to flower. This because as soon as you set them out they start to flower, so height and size is pretty much determined as they won't get much taller. The other way is to plant them directly into the ground or start in a cold frame under natural daylight and then set out. Best yields are going to be when started in a cold frame and placed out immediately after the last danger of frost. Ideally, you want your flowering to be at its peak during the longer days of June.

??? I wonder which way will infact, produce larger yields ???

after putting mine out at whatever they were 14"-16" mostly, they doubled in size easily. both in height and girth. cold frame is not a real option for me as it is still snowing some days while they are vegging indoors. i pushed it very early this year and put some out around may 10th i think. they had to be covered in burlap with tomatoe triangle stakes for support a couple nights. which made for a few tough days work.

why not try the iranian og kush? it just sounds so nice. they all sound nice. in fact most everything sounds nice.

Hey sodalite -
First of all Thank you for your pics and posts man its been alot of help. I have a couple questions.I m in the pacific northwest where about are you, they seem to do great there, what size container are you starting and finishing in . Im planning on ordering the iranian and was wondering how the cloning works with it. how many weeks in are you supposed to clone it. I saw you are supposed to take long clones because they go into flowering quickly. about how quickly after taking a large clone does it initiate flowering? How do you keep her going without having too many generations of clones. it always seems to go downhill at about the third generation of a mom for all the stains i have. And everything else you say i agree with, i got a friend who does the lowrider x Ak 47 (easyrider) and I dont like the potency and how long the high lastsbut the smell and look are fine i guess, And Ive never realized what people see in attitude i cant stand anything and everything they ever do. DNA, Greenthumb and subcool all the way for me.

Ps. What do you think about the Mi5 from short stuff I've been looking into that lately its auto ak47 x purple afghani. Also the auto hindu kush x ak caught my eye do you have any opinions on these . Thanks man I really appreciate it.

Iranian Autoflower was by far the biggest and most potent of all the autos i've done. Others aren't in the same league really

i just went to biggybuds bio page and went into his posts and out of 76 posts 71 of them are all talking about dr greenthumb and how great he is.something stinks.do i smell spam?!!i am not knocking the docs strains at all.why dont you just let us figure it out for ourselves.i just got a pack of iranian SS for myself.the other thing that makes me nervous is that in every pic of that strain the crystal coverage is lacking in a big way.i am a very accomplished outdoor grower so i will give a report at the end of the season and you guys can bank i will tell you all exactly how good this strain really is.dont get me wrong...i hope it rocks the house.its just that i have seen biggybuds and ogman and a couple otheres(maybe the same guy) on here and other cannabis boards spammingf the shit out of these beans.it kind of makes me think, well if they have to promote these seeds so bad are they really that good.but like i say i hope that they rock!good luck everybody.the last pic is what i walked up to on a otherwise nice mid september morning.wanted to die.
