Invalid Recommendations

I feel the need to address this.

Currently there are a few places where you can go and get a "recommendation" for MMJ in Massachusetts. To my knowledge these are invalid and irrelevant because the state has yet to release official applications for MMJ and there is no patient database yet.

To the "caregivers" who are telling patients they will only assist them if they have a "recommendation"- Guys, thats bologna. I understand no one wants to get caught up with the law but how can you expect someone to go get a recommendation at this time since the state is completely stalling on MMJ?

Give us a break!

No they are giving real recommendations which are the paper recommendation. The only thing wrong with them is that these recommendations aren't filed into the state database for police to look up and verify. So you could potentially have a cop arrest you for medical marijuana and then have to prove that your recommendation is legit.
As of October, 8th 2014 the state system has started to take applications and you will need your state ID for MMJ as of Jan 1st 2015.
Here is the link explaining how to register with the state...

I don't believe so, I called my doctor who wrote my recommendation yesterday to ask for my VG account and he said that him and all of the other doctors are currently going through the process of signing up to get their accounts. Once they receive them they will be able to give the patients theirs. I was scheduled to have a follow up appointment soon but told them I won't be coming back until the doctor went through the process and got his account number so he could give me mine and I could become fully legal with the state. Cannacare said to watch their facebook page and they will announce within the next two weeks when they will have their accounts.
I also called the states medical marijuana dept to ask about hardship cultivation along with ask them if what the doctors office told me was legit and she backed everything they said up saying that the system just started so it will take a few weeks to process the doctors applications before they can start processing patients.

in Washington state, thats how it works. you get a recommendation from a Doctor, there is no state database. However in Washington the medical law is an "affirmative defense" it doesnt legalize anything.. And that's how it was for years before rec. pot was legalized. Under the new recreational laws, it is still illegal to grow any amount, unless you are registered with the state as a manufacturer. The Doctors recommendation will be your "affirmative defense" in court.
