I wanna buy my heat sinks from TME. I need to figure out if they'll ship to USA.
Are you referring to the big extruded ones? ...........If so, I just wanna warn you about the weight of them. They're what I've used and while they're great for cooling, they weigh a feckin ton. I'm getting eye-bolts for mine to screw into the ceiling joists and hung with steel catinery wire.

I know ALL about how heavy heatsinks are. They're just a LOT cheaper than from heatsinkusa.

I bought mine from them
But at tme ,all the extruded heatsink have only 5mm Base thick.
Maybe I did not saw some model.
Anyway, if you need to buy from them and they cannot sell outside Europe , I can order for you, and make them ship to USA, instead of my country.
They also have some big deal on cob,but since you are not in Poland, they can not sell to you

That why I will buy from cobkits.com
All the sources available in Europe are more expensive than buy in USA+shipping+ 22%custom fees (calculated on total shipping value ,so I will pay custom even on shipping cost....)
@CobKits
Why don't you stock hlg-185h-36?
They would be best option ,in my opinion, for ones who want 1212.
1 driver will be enough for small tent/light,and offer the opportunity to scale up for larger light (multibar heatsink or pin heathsink in multirow setup,in example )with the possibility to dim or switch off every single bar/row.
In My case,I have 4x4 with 3 bar setup.
During veg I will use only central bar, dimmed and/or full power. Then when I spread smart pot in late veg I will use the 2 external bar and dimm or switch off central.
Than in flower all 3 at full power.
But with a 185h-36 I will have every single bar indipendent from each other, with every choice available.

noted, ill look into getting some. i can special order anything but the cost is usually a little higher if im buying one-offs
Great.
Hlg 185-36 will make 1212 really price competitive against 1818 and everything else.
While 320 and 600 are perfect for big light/room,it is harder to fit that power inside tent.
2x2 need less than 320 or 600,while 185 would fit perfect
3x3 320 would be ok
4x4 (most common)1× 320 is a bit weak,2 overkill,as well as 600.
185 is big enough for small setup, and small enough to just add 1 or more driver to fit everywhere, giving you opportunity to perfect size the power and light configuration.
Since 1818 works across 36 v, B version can be use with no problem and using all power available, having the bonus of remote dimming to 10%

keep in mind that the "b" version of the 36V constant voltage driver cant run a 1212 over 1200 mA as it tops out at a hard 36V. the 1212s have a little higher forward voltage as opposed to say a CXB which can get up to 2100 mA on the same driver

I would put at least 5 cob per driver...But probably 6 or more
Looking for 59% or more efficency

They're like the ones on my prototype, seriously, they're like balsa wood compared to the ones from tme. Have you checked the shipping costs to the USA yet? I think you'll be shocked, defo not gonna be cheap, that's IF they'll ship.
mass is cooling, there is no fancy work around.....the pinless passive sinks, still weigh a good amount. don't shortcut.... and keep in mind numbers aka C/w for instance, are often mis-represented and need some real world data which rarely matches with a DS..... making me smoke more from time to time :joint: :peace:

Do you think (3) 1212's (6500K 80cri)
driven by a HLG120-700B on a passive cooled 5.886x16" HS from HSUSA would be sufficient for 4sq ft. coverage (1 mother plant in 5gal)?

Reason I was thinking this way vs 6 on the the hlg240-1050 driver & 1 heatsink is because I have to be able to adjust light height independently for each mother. I can build 2 of them each with their own driver and heatsink. Then I will be able to hang each independently over 2 mother plants.
My total build for 2 fixtures would be under $280.00 total.
Citi Calculator says I'd be running 12630 lumens,
77W at the wall & cobs running @51% efficiency per fixture.
