@CobKits -- do you know if I were to run COBs at low wattage, does that in any way impact the quality of the light?

It's a long story, but I have a light with 1818's over a plant that can't handle intense lights, and in order to run them all to get the best coverage I might end out running them at about 30w each -- so I'm wondering if the range and/or quality of light degrades when less watts are being pushed through the cob? That may be an analogue question in a digital world, so forgive me if it makes no sense.

In an incandescent bulb, lower voltage/wattage affects light output a lot, as how hot the element gets affects light qaulity and quantity. LED are so completely different that you cannot compare the two at all. lower voltage, etc on an led only lowers the volume of light, it has no bearing on color temp, etc, or to such a tiny degree it doesn't count. Otherwise, you'd see a difference when dimming, and that doesn't happen.

Thanks! I suspected that might be the case, but had to check.

What drivers would be best to run 8 cluo48 1212s 3000k 90cri. I'm running a 2x4 tent. Was thinking if running 8. 4 and 4. Just not sure on drivers yet.

2x4 = 8 square feet
8 square feet x 35 W/SF = 280W

of stuff i have on hand several drivers can get you there
2 x hlg185-36A (youd be using 75% capacity on each driver)
2 x hlg185-c1400b (again dimmed to 75% capacity, with room to turn up)
2 x hlg185-c1050b (using about 80% of driver with roo on driver to add a cob)
1 x hlg320h-C1050 (voltage gets high make sure to select 250V ideal holders instead of BJB which are rated for 150V)

Hello friends, I am new, I was recommended this forum I am from Chile sorry for my English.

I wanted to consult you about this equipment that they sell to me, they used the cob citizen clu058 1825 said in the seller and that nobody had achieved a team like these or in their country, says they are the best in penetration and Iefficiency read something and I do not know if it's worth it.

600w at the wall
1.400 usd converted the price to your currency

Any criticism, is it worth it?

thinking about making the switch. what would it cost me to cover a 4x8 area just for floweing ?
I just did pretty much the same move, but it depends on alot of different variables, I had a budget of about $1200, i'll spend about 1100, including shipping. Still need to buy 2 aluminium frames. 2 separate kits, 2 separate 4x4 grow spaces.

i was watching timber and blackdog for a couple year. it seems like prices are going up. i was hoping it would be like flat screen tv and prices would go down.

@CobKits -- I have a pair of Optic 120's, they run two Vero 18's at 60w each. They were built in 2015, so after this grow I want to rebuild them with passive heatsinks (since the fans are within enclosed cases I probably wouldn't know if one failed until after the cob was burned out).

For economy sake I'd like to reuse the drivers, which would mean I'd continue running them at 60w each.

Question: What size passive heatsink would you recommend? Let me know if you think there are any issues with continuing to run them at 60w on passive heatsinks.

Thanks :)

Black Dog is way over priced and far from the best. If I were to spend the money for a high end commercial light, I'd buy a Fluence. One of the top 2 or 3 lights made at a much better price than black Dog.

But I can kick all their asses with cobs and or QB lights!
