they actually have measurements to back it up. 550 has as much flux as a 1000 SE.

the only thing i dont like about the 550 is it mounts the boards close together. its more of a drop in solution for people used to single fixtures like 1000 hps, and is thus a compromise relative to an array.

the same 4 boards spread apart or a 9-16 cob array would provide more uniform light

their upcoming elite series addresses this coverage issue to an extent (and is more efficient as well, i believe)

I run 4 boards mounted on separate heatsinks. I use 1/2"x1/16" U channel aluminum and built two frames the boards can slide in a bit for adjustment. And the whole thing is so light weight its amazing! . However, as a drop in replacement for a 1000watt HPS, it sure is!

Here's an out of control grow ( my fault lol ) under a 4 board QB 304 light running at 360 watts from the wall, I can't even imagine more light in there!

What does this mean exactly?
it means that one of the main advantages of cob arrays over single fixtures like HPS is better more uniform coverage due to more points of light/angles of incidence, as well as light just being more uniform under multiple emitters evenly spaced.

like in a warehouse individual pattern of an HPS is not as critical because you have a massive array of lamps uniformly spaced. not true for a person with one or two lamps

Hey Cobkits, quick question. The wire you sell, the 18/2 solid core, is that both black/red or just single colored wire strands?

its an Apevia, 12V, cant find anything else on it, lol..

Using 2 of these for heat extraction, plus the 4 cobsinks,
