oh i love em,i think they are awesome.dont mind me im just givin coberto high blood pressure.we have no idea what they will do until we see some grows with them i think.we may have to start using references like real cobz and paper cobz.paper cobz are those cobz we see in data sheets that everyone wants but nobody can get yet haha.but as far as this newer citizen 1812 it looks awesome asa paper cob :bigjoint:
Yes...they are paper tigers...will have to give them a run. I like them because I have 2 each HLG 185 1400s with a max voltage of 143! So 4 each 1216s would fit on them with ease...shweeeeet! It will be interesting to see what the cost will be for them.

Well for cobs sake i hope they are cheaper than cree haha.
Im also curious on these new chips n colors,i still dont buy into the 3500k train of thought for a flower only light.

I too, have been really liking the 90cri all the way around, veg and bloom. After see the 3000k/90cri next to a DE HPS 1000w, I might grab a couple 2700k/90cri and do another side by side. Next to the DE you can see how much more blue the COB's have. They almost look like a MH next to the HPS.IMG_20170313_203444291 (1).jpg

yes 36V nominal same as 1212 (and all citi 12xx which designates 12 dies in series), they just have 4 extra strings of 12. they'll have the lowest voltage of all the 12xx series due to the extra dies, about 34V at 1400 mA

Now we're talkin so prob still under 36v @ 1750ma as well ?

they'll be about $16
they have 192 dies vs cxb's 144
while cxbs have higher surface area to dissipate heat, the 1216 may have the extra dies to match it despite the smaller package. we'll soon see. just got a shipping notice from cutter on the latest crees, its almost thunderdome time

again i have no dog in the race, i dont endorse chips because i stock them, i stock them because i endorse them. whatever is the best value on the constantly changing COB landscape ill move towards and do my best to purchase the best chips i can in bulk to offer them at the best price i can to builders. citizens are great chips... i think luminus might have the edge for now but things are always moving. 1216 is gonna be a contender to CXM22.

i cant for the life of me imagine why cree doesnt jam more dies onto a 50V cob and take the throne back... its long overdue.

Can two spectrums reside on the same driver?

I have both citi 1212s in 3500k and 90 cri and lumis in 3000k 80cri.

After 2 runs now it is obvious that my particular setup favors the citis. It's not that they put out more finished product per plant because I'm not sure they do. The problem is I have a stretchy pheno and they really stretch under the redder lumis, they take up almost twice as much space. I could pack a lot more in if I cut the stretch down.

My setup currently is meanwell hlg-185 constant voltage drivers with 4 3000k 80cri lumis on them. Can I stick 4 3500k 90cri lumis on that same driver?
