Insulation ideas for shed grow

Finally got the go ahead to grow on the property and decided I want to convert the shed we have next to the house. Its a large wood framed shed we built awhile back. Now with me being in So Cal we have nasty heat and i'm worried about keeping temps maintained( its always hot as shit here haha). Torn between covering the studs with ply and spray foaming in between the 2 or doing fiberglass insulation. Any helps appreciated.

You will still need to consider AC (minisplit) or you will need to pull air from somewhere cool ( under house). I would add a reflective barrier first then go with one of these-

Both of these are easy to work with and no need for long-sleeves and mask. No itch and better sound deadening.

You can't beat the spray foam insulation done properly for R-value. Not cheap though. Pink insulation is quick and cheap and its what I used in a shed build with similar climate - wear long sleeves, mask and goggles to avoid the itch. Roof is more important than the walls, but any sun-facing side needs to be done to a good standard. Avoid compressing the batts as this reduces their efficiency.

I sealed up with drywall, caulked every gap including around outlet wall plates etc, and finished with a latex primer. My interior ambient temps - before AC and any lighting - is steady in mid to high 70's on 100+ days.

Insulate well and you will demand less of your expensive environmental controls.

ruwtz did you ever record temps with lights on and no a/c? Where was your intake coming from, big exhaust fan?

Running all four Gavita 750's adds an average of 13-20 degrees to room temps without AC, but admittedly this wasn't the hottest day.

Sealed room so no exhaust.

Also worth noting RH in the room with no AC or lights or plants sits around 65%, which was a surprise to me which is why I dropped heavy on a proper dehumi. Can't beat the Quest 105 for around $2-large.
