Insulating Indoor Growroom VS not.

I'm a new member to the site, have a bit of experience but still have my head quite far up my arse. I have gotten myself a couple grow bibles to help me along the way but a few veteran growers in my area say I can find quite a lot of useful info on here.

So to get straight to it, I'm building a grow room in my bedroom. Yes I could buy a tent, but not the the specifications I would prefer, and durability. It's 5x8x7ft, build with a 2x2 framing, and sheets of moisture resistant plywood 1/2in. As it sits now, I could hang lights, the panda paper, and get going. However I would like to know the benefits and downfalls of insulating it.

In my mind if I were to insulate all the walls, and the ceiling, cover it all up after its hung with the visqueen plastic I have; and finally put the panda paper over top for ultimate light reflection, not only will it reduce sound by quite a considerable amount but also help me control temp.

Now before I go on, I am going to run 2 600w's in this room, and it will be a single cycle room for the time being (veg and flower, 1 batch at a time. All the room I have for now). Obviously those will pump out some heat, but I'm thinking yes the insulation would obviously hold the heat in the room, however since I will be exhausting directly out my bedroom window, I think insulating it would just help control the overall temps. Less heat build up, a more consistent night temperature, as well as being able to hold cool air from my a/c unit as long as my ventilation doesn't pull too much out too fast.

A lot to read, apologies for the length but I figured the more thorough I am the better you can inform or advise me.

Also I live up in the NW corner of Washington, so the highest temp I see (during summer) inside my house is about 76-78F, during the winter I love my radiant house temperature at 68F. Just a little more info for thought if that may contribute to whether or not insulation is overkill possibly or helpful.

Thanks again

Probably not necessary, since its a room within your house it wont be experiencing temp extremes like a basement or garage would.

I agree with bustin

The temperatures you listed are ok. Insulation isn't going to do much.

I purposely didn't insulate mine, but it's wrapped in 2 layers of B&W plastic, with about a 1" airspace between layers, which does act as a minor Insulation. I wanted the room to be able to radiate heat into my basement, which is an almost constant 65-70F rather than keep the heat trapped inside. If you are venting inside the house, don't insulate, if you are venting directly outside insulate.

from the first few responses it doesnt sound necessary to insulate, however it doesn't exactly sound harmful to go ahead and do it anyhow.

Seeing how I will be venting directly outside (for summer, spring, fall), I will most likely do something light weight, just enough to dampen sound, and give me a bit more control over my environment.

Thanks to all
