Insulated Coolers as Reservoirs

I am considering using one of these insulated coolers as my reservoir. I figure they are 100% light proof and will keep the use of a heater or water chiller to a minimum. The res would be placed in a separate room from the lights to further keep water temp in check.

They both come with drains, have a huge capacity, are made to be filled with water(ice) unlike Rubbermaid totes.

Any comments. Do you think it would be worth the expense.

$120 for this one

sure you can, jsut i won't recommend the cylinder one, here 's a pic of mine, Igloo was only like $50, i think it's like a, oh i forgot how many gallons, but it doesn't have to be the big huge one, just depends on what you shooting for grow space, area, etc, i have 6 hydro , BPonics and 2 in soil, 3 in the Igloo and 3 in a rubber maid.

I could've easily fit like 6 smaller hydro containers, but it's 3 per cooler and rubbermaid. Heck, you can even get the styrofoam coolers at 7eleven type stores. I used a huge rubbermaid, and it started leaking, don' recommend huge rubber maid cause they bend wit hthe water weight.
