Ok..Ive been thinkin'..what happens if I veg some female clones under a Fluro for 24hours..and then set it outside around mid-June,early July??Will the clones start to flower??Also, will this allow enought time to get a proper yield..I plan on vegging them nicely till' theyr pretty big and bushy!!I ask cus I simply dont have the privacy/luxury of growing plants outside for the ENTIRE season, but I can manage a couple months....Also,this will help on my budget since the sun will act as my flowering light system!!So watcha' say??

this is a good question! im also wondering what will happen if i take some plants that i have veggin outdoors and bring em inside for some 18 hour light sessions? i cant permanently maintain an indoor grow :/ but would the large change in time under the light and type of light hurt the plant?

If Im not mistaken, your plants are ALREADY under 18hours of light...thats pretty much the standard begging time in a season..then the dark gradually starts to increase..right??So,what will happen? Will my plants flower if theyr brought from 24hours to outside in late-June..early July???Anyone??!

no they wont flower until the days are about 12 hours long. Have you read anything about growing yet. You should put them outside now. The sun is a lot better than your cfls

ive been doing alot of experimenting with that.the bad thing is taking a plant outside and shocking it,so im leaving the veg plants outside and im flowering indoors...its better to bring an outdoors plant in,than an indoor plant outside!!!there i said it.im fuckin stoned,,peace:joint::mrgreen:

Yes I think they will flower, especially if you wait until July 1st or so to put them out. It will take a couple weeks to see buds forming of course, but any clone taken out after the summer solstice(June 21st I think) should flower especially if it was under 24 hours of light before the transplant.

Ok..thats what I wanted to know...also Hydrotech:please share your wisdom to me...
Capncash..why wont they flower??Didnt you read my thread?I dont have the privacy or security to veg AND flower the plants outside..so Im just gonna veg them under a PLL T-5 system which puts out 10,000 lumens...I assumed if I put the plants outside around early July-late June..I can harvest them around October/November..which is like 5 months to flower...so will this give me a good yield??

PS:I might live in sunny,South Florida...where the winters dont really get too cold, and theres never any frost!!

Ya man sounds good what your planning. Once the days get to about 12 hrs long they should start flowering, maybe even before because your on a 24/0 cycle now? Switch up your nutrients along with the move to outdoors and you'll be cool. Ive been putting mine outside to sex and its been working just fine, but the days might be too long now, did this about 3-4 weeks ago. Critters might be an issue though, so Id check them often and kill any catapillers, aphids, flies on them. GL let us know how it goes.

No.I plan on setting them outside in a nicely re-worked spot(added manure,nutrients,coir,perlite,etc)..around late-June,early July...then Im just going to take care of em' and water, and feed accordingly...hopefully by Ocotober-November I can harvest some nice buds!!..So will my plan work..I was thinkin' maybe 24hours veg is too much stress for em??Maybe a 18 hour light cycle..even 16hour??Any other input on this exciting new idea..?

yeah your plan sounds good, i am doing that same thing, and i had the same question... most people told me that 24/7 with the lights is ok, but 18/6 works very well also, its just a matter of preference i suppose ? i did mine 18/6 instead of 24 because i was able to get them out early

and i didnt want them budding in the middle of may, but im starting a new group that will be put under 24/7 light until july 10th or so at which time ill be putting them out

I'm in the same climate you are...im vegging inside until they get pretty well established...1-2 foot then bringing it outside since I can probably utilize the sun to get bigger denser buds than CFLs

I read that veggin inside for a while then bringing it outside is def fine but you must harden it before hand so I would reccomend bringin the plants out on a cloudy overcast day. Right now I have my plants under 18/6, I started with 24/0 when they were tiny seedlings and switched to 18/6 after they started to root in the soil. 24/0 all the way until flower i think will not be that great for the plants since the plants are not given time to rest from heat and do its other cycle of respiration.

I'm also worried about bugs and critters and horrible weather possible hurricans? Any advice on planting this in the woods would be helpful like what to use...as I'll be spreading the crops all in different places.

I'm not sure what sex my plants are...which is going to be a pain in the ass if I went through the trouble of digging a huge ass hole for those fuckin males.

So my question is...can you force it to show sex first then bring it outside?

i dont think you should force them into flower before u move them outside. you would have to put them into a 12/12 cycle for two weeks for them to show their sex, then moving them outside would change to a longer cycle, the plant might start to mutate, or go hermie, and you would be worse off than if you just take your chances and kill off the males as they show sex after you move them outside.

Your other option is to cover a branch with black trash bags...this will cause ONLY THAT internode to produce flowers aka:Buds or balls lol...so will my plan work like expected??Any SURE answer, not imagining..?Ima veg indoors under a T-5..then around June20 Ima set t outside?Assuming they are healthy female clones..will they bud....Will I harvest around November/September??

Plants don't like stress. Meaning changes in schedule and enviroment. This could produce Hermies:-( Just let nature do it's thing. Put em outside. You can't compete with the sun.

I truly wish I can grow plants outdoors for the entire season!..Nothing beats delicious bud grown outdoor...ORGANICALLY!!But I cant..I can only flower them for a couple months...Thats why Ima veg them till their nice and big..then set outside...you get me?!
I know I shouldnt stress em'..so Ima harden em' everyday by puttin it out in the sun for a while...plus Ill use those vitamins that prevent plants from getting root stress!!
