Imagine what it would be like to have to construct your sexual identity out of nothing.

The other threads made me think about my friend and some people Ive worked with. I like my friends so I try and do things they like to do. I go to movies they like or visit a friends gallery to show them that what they do is supported by people who care and yadda yadda yadda. But when I think about some of the things I do with my gay friends they're not acts of support for their career or life choices, they're acts of support for simple things that we take for granted like going to a bar or a club or a parade. Things we don't second guess are big steps to live a normal life for others.

I worked with a 17 year old kid who is pretty effeminate. I'm almost 100% sure he is gay but he can't come out because he is mommas only boy and the whole community knows him on sight. The weird thing is he has no real concept of hetero attraction so he sees attractive women and kind of mentions them but turns to me for approval. It kills me to see this kid be made confused instead of accepted for who he is. He is a great kid, a serious catch for any church. He is religious and volunteers a lot but he will never be accepted here. God knows I'm straight but I don't want to be anyone's heterosexual role model. For that I turn to the Fonz! Ayyyyyy

Speaking of dildoes. Our buildings backyard was literally littered with them. It seems they were thrown out of windows during cyclical lovers spats. The older kids in the building would throw them over the 2 story roof of the nearby furniture store. One of them was a Babe Ruth League pitcher. Lol. I turned out fine.

Why do some people on this site feel that transgender people should be treated differently? A difference is not a disability...

I live in n.c. and before hb2 there was literally no instances of transgender sexual harassment that I can ever remember, but now that its in the public spotlight I can guarantee you will hear of instances of people going in opposite bathrooms just to make a political statement.
