I'm confused

I while ago I ran a test dwc setup with one plant to try out hydro along side my soil. Used bagseed so I didn't lose anything important if I couldn't handle the feeding properly. I used a 10 gallon res with a pump with 1 long airstone. Once my seedling sprouted I filled my res and set her in the rocks, right into the flower room to 12/12 from seed... Heres what happened:

Roots grew down in a few days and I was amazed my how fast she grew. Once she was settled in the water I began to plan my first nute mix for the res as I assumed shed be looking hungry soon... It never happened. She continued to stay beautiful all the way into about 3 weeks into flower. I never added any nutes...she was thriving in pure water... At that 3 week mark I figured I should change the res ( even though it STILL looked fine...) And while I was add it give her some flowering nutes. So I emptied and added my new water and 6 drops of flora flowering nutes (out of an eye dropper into the res)... What happened? BURNT THE SHIT OUTTA MY PLANT!...I was amazed that only 6 drips in probably about 8 gallons of water would be enough to do this... But I knew I clearly did something wrong. So I emptied the res and filled it back up with pure water. Boom, she came back from crispy leaves and was back to looking healthy (besides the nasty leaves from the nutes). And I left it at that, pure water to finish my grow. After drying I got about 14gr off her. I stopped doing dwc at that point as the res took up a lot of space for my tiny room.

Now...my question is this...why didn't I need nutes??? I'm so confused as I don't understand how the hell it grew like that in just water...tap water at that. It goes against everything I've read....mainly I'm asking because I was thinking of doing another run with it so I just wanna understand... Cause I feel like I have to be missing something...

6 droplets of GH flora bloom to 10 gallons? I don't think that would even move the ppm's on a meter in 10 gallons of water !! You actually need to feed the plant more from what is sounds like . How did the roots look? Explain your dwc or pics help alot
