Hey potheads . I am really new to leds but like the idea . Um i just bought my first led off cough cough choke amazon for 175 beans . a bossled 1000w (i know its not acually 1000w) so anyway i have only had this for about 2 weeks and only using it for 3-6 hours in the evenings when i cant place my bitches on the porch in full sun and one light is already burnt out . They say the will repair them but if i knew it came from CHINA i would have never ordered it . I'll just let it burn out and cut my losses.
What i need to know is what is the longest lasting most reliable leds withing a poormans budget . I want to get as much watts as i can . I also like the way my plants like my t-5s and would it be as good to just get a few more of those and set some sideways and above the plants . I was using the led with my t-5 and the plantstended to grow toward the t-5's prefering that light . cn i get decent buds from t-5's . I try to get them in the sun as much as i can without anyone seeing them and can be a pain sometime . let me know what leds dont burn out right away . I cant use hps in the house i am in , to much old wiring and dont need the heat or bills

Hello guys, I recently got interested in growing after being good friends with a couple guys in my area that do indoor and realizing that I have quite a network of friends and contacts already, they're gonna help me get started and guide me through my first grows. I have been saving up the cash and reading anything about DIY LED setups I possibly can. Thank you to SupraSPL, Greengenes, and Growmau5 for all the information you guys have supplied or condensed into easy to digest bites. I wanted to share my parts on this thread just to make sure everything is golden before I make my purchase so here it is:

4 x LED Holders Ideal 50-2303CR
4 x LED adaptor: Ideal 50-2300AN

1 x Dimming potentiometer (100k)
1 x 140mm Fan + 12v Walwart over 500ma + 3pin to molex adapter
1 x Thermal Paste
1 x Killawatt
1 x Male Power plug (Wall)

//Will need//
Screws to mount Cob holders
Solder
Soldering Iron

Yeah they do have a weak warrenty, but alteast you got covered. They are the cheaper end of LED lights, but those things happen.

Maybe get replacement and get a different light. Sorry for your loss. To be fair I have had 2x ss440(American made) go out. But still in their warrenty time as well, among a few other issues. Any light can get theses issues. In the end all about the support and how well they help imo. You did talked to them right?

I was planning on selling the light...their warranty is weak as they'll send you replacement diodes for you to solder in yourself, but these burned out in a pattern so thinking there's more to the story...just throwing out my experiences.

I cant get mine to die, I have left them outside, gave them away only to have them given back a year later(he got new stuff) I use them on Halloween w/dry ice. some I had since 2011. I still use them from time to time, for extra coverage for veg.

A large majority of production LEDs come from China and unfortunately they do lack quality. I have 2 kind k5 1000 watt lights @1695 each after 2 weeks 31 diodes burned out. I think the only good option is to stay local as possible. Many many companies that advertise here have very high quality lights available. Pay a little more but get a real light with high efficiency and a great warranty.

Sucks to say but you purchased a "1000" watt light at about a $1000 lower than most of that size would actually cost. It's bound to happen unfortunately. Go with cobs even a few of them, but real Cree cobs and they will pay themselves back in no time

I did nothing but add your prices in. I never said anything negative about your company till you came here acting like a child. I stated the facts right off of your website exactly as they are. Want to hug and make up now? I hate bickering and I kinda like your lights too.
I decided to reply on your last comment because the conversation, debate or whatever you or anyone would like to call it has been a bit hilarious.

But more so hoping i could get quick reply from GG and bring some more positive energy and place shade over your bullshit wining about a light you seem to wish you had gotten and salty that you didn't.

I have a couple of these lights, and from results that I'm sure you have seen or you would have never considered. Whats understood doesn't need to be explained. The PLC are the real deal, and if your a real grower it will get you real results.

Anyways @Greengenes707, I ended up removing a plc from a 4x8 space because it was to much light where i had planned to use for supplement with (2) Gavita D/E.

I have decided to move to move it to a 3x5 space, i wish you could sell me some of those spotters i seen you posted a while back the single 50w cobs, i would place them on each side of the panel for the 3x5 and thats would be perfect, until then though I'm using some 2ft 4 bulb t-5HO panels on each side. Also will be using another plc panel in a custom 3x3 orca tent.

My question is for that type of space any recommendations on plant count? and veg time?, trellis netting? or no?

Strain will be one of the following: Sunset, Choc. Hashberry, 3x crazy

Medium: Soil, Organic, Custom recipe.

Overall goal is to just get the best all around results, not so much the highest yield ever, but just good steady all around results, and hoping to run a monthly perpetual once finding the genetics that provide the best.

Thanks man. So good to hear stuff like that.
Wow. Ya, the gavitas plus the cx300 is a lot of light. Just the gavitas are more than plenty in there.

We have sinks, 50w drivers, cobs, and everything to put together a single spot coming by the 16th this month. Should be a nice cheap option for exactly what you're talking about. I'll see what I can do about making things plug and play as possible.

Since your running good soil and organics, I would opt for larger pots(5gal+) and plants. So 3 big well trained and topped girls. ~5-6 week veg. and they will take up that who space no problem. Similar to @captainmorgan style. Yes on the trellis for sure.
My other thought was maybe 6-8 3gallons vegged like 3 weeks.
I like bigger pots and plants better myself, but it all works out about the same. What ever it takes to fill the canopy up nicely.

I'm happy with my purchase but thank you for your concern. I do think Plc cx-300 would have worked well but not specifically for my needs. Without going into why I would like to leave it at that.

Dude, I haven't turned anything around, sounds like your seeing the facts maybe. You are the one that brought my company into it just to talk false shit. I was not even in this argument and was letting you and everyone bitch all you want to each other. Then you started saying things about PLC that were untrue. Such as the sale price, discounted price and MSRP, and some email interaction. You said you emailed doing the sale and didn't get a discount on multiple and that the base price would have been $725. If that were true the base price would have been $650, and if you were to get multiple it could have been less depending on how many. But you never asked any of that nor did you do it during the sale like you were claiming otherwise you would know what the sale price was cause 725 was never an option of pricing before or during the sale. As well as the standard code was for $699. And if you did miss the sale late and emailed asking...you would have gotten the sale price, just like the people who order two days before the sale not knowing about it and not even using the 699 code...they were sent $100 back saying happy 420.

There was no need to even bring PLC into it, but you had to because it was a similar light and you are trying to justify your purchase. Good for you, but again, why are you slandering and spreading false information. Was that part of your discount? If the light stacks up it stacks up. And I offered a light for someone to sphere test. Or you can wait till ETL is done. Nothing to hide over here.
why dont you just ban him?? we are reading last 10day uninteresting spams and trolling, hes infested good theme into bunch of bullocks!!

Speaking of trolling!? You can see things have settled so why stir the pot. I actually just recommended his lights to another grower . So please go back in your hole.
