Oh! I would be happy to do a comparison grow if anyone's interested. [/QUOTE said:
I think he knows no one here has a sphere that's why he offered it. If I owned a light company and charged what they did I would think free lights for comparison grows would be easy to come by. The cx is only 6 cobs compared to the se450 which is double the light

What a coincidence, I was also not talking about DIY.

I'm no expert on all the current cob makers, but it appears Tasty and Johnson are using CXB3590s. Even the 2.1A Tasty leds would be about as efficient as a 3070 run at 1.4A, let alone 1750ma or 1400ma models.
I did the calcs the tasty 1750ma model is slightly less efficient. your right though the cxb3590 at 1400ma is more efficient. I didn't consider the T2-1400 cause its cost is way out there compared to the cx300 price wise.

no comment on Johnson, the only units that they have for sale are cxa3070. Been that way for as long as I can remember.

What calcs were those exactly?

Like I said, I'm no expert, but there is an 8 cob CXB3590 listed at Johnson, looks like it's running at 1.4A. It's out of stock, but technically so is PLC.

Edit: nevermind, I got it. Checked the Cree PCT.
I don't believe Johnson ever finished them, he announced he was going to do sphere testing, but after that never heard anything. if he did great, but I don't believe they ever went on sale.

Its common knowledge that PLC has sold a whole bunch of units and they actually do get restocked.
now are we nitpicking ?

Not nitpicking, just curious what was going on with Johnson. Like I said, I'm not omniscient. Just comparing two websites.

However I do know about Tasty thanks to this thread, so what were your calcs again showing Tasty lamps at 1750ma are less efficient than the CX300?

I speak with Stephen a lot he's a good guy and I know why he's always out of stock is because they are sold faster than he can make them and I'm sure it goes for PLC as well.

Anybody making these lights are good guys in my book. Nobody is getting rich selling white cob lights in an already niche led market. Anybody trying to build and sell right now is doing it because they are excited about it, I guarantee it.

just basic cob voltage\current calc. it was really close. so to keep the nitpickers happy I'll rephrase.

PLC cx300, Tastyled 1750, 1400 and the Johnson CXB-8 are the highest efficiency units on the market that I know of. ok ? lol

thought id post some pics of a t2-2100 since the site could use some more.

meter for scale.
w/reflectors
in the face!

not sure what I'm gonna do with it, maybe set up this 5x10 orca tent and do a comparison t-2100 vs 2x300mars or something I got some dying Og skywalker clones outside I could use. I wont be here this weekend cause of cana expo!!

mine is super quite, I dunno what you guys are saying about it being loud.

so yeah if RAZ you see this, you need more pics on your site.

I admit I rely a lot on Cree's tools and Supraspl's spreadsheets, so I'm genuinely curious what you are talking about. Unless Tasty is very bad at cooling their cobs, they should be around 53% efficient at 1750ma, which is what is stated in the specs.

A CXB3070 at 1400ma is only 50.77% efficient, according to Supra's measurements. Cree's PCT shows about the same difference in lm/w.

I'm not trying to start an argument, just wondering why your answer doesn't align with the numbers most people rely on.

i have absolutely no reason to lie. Tbh I am new to the whole cob lighting industry. I emailed you and asked if there was any bulk discount orders. My reply was . Already on sale. That's all nothing more

Lmao!! Look at your own website you dumb shit. It's 725 and out of stock. I really hope for the sake of your customers your lights aren't filled with as much bullshit as you are.
Where did I say differently? I have told you many time the current MSRP price is $725. You really can't read, you just reply because you're angry?

So where is the email. You can edit all your info out.

I don't care what you say about amare and whatever you buy. Just get things straight and stop lying about other companies, mine or anyones. Specially when you complain about your email interaction with a company when infact never did emailed them at all and are slandering.

my mistake I was comparing the cx300 to the tasty 2100 series, primarily because of similar cost. was discussed with rahz.

It's great your trying to turn it around. But it's a little late friend. I said 725 and you called me a liar you said 725 and called me a liar again. It's not a 2 way conversation everyone else reads this too. I will dig the email when I get home. Do you do bulk discounts? "They are already on sale". You are a joke. anither great reason why I'm happy with my purchase, never get this type of trash elsewhere

I already said. Get a sphere and I'll supply the cx300(our first generation). Otherwise, you can wait 4 weeks till the new lights come out(and you don't have to email to find out about them, click and buy)...and all the ETL and IP testing will be done...along with all the data anyone could ever want about PLC lights.

So get the sphere done and stop trying to argue about things you don't understand.

PLC has the highest system efficiency and chip efficiency of anyone on the market and like we said, are spending all the money to test ourselves on the highest level(not a hand held quantum meter) with the best 3rd party to do it. And also encourage others putting our lights through whatever test they want...I even offered the light from my first generation you are so wrapped up on that will still beat anyone's stuff. So again...make it happen or step back and learn something.
Hey does this mean you'll be doing integrating sphere tests on white cob lights? That would be a first, and I'd love to see how it all lines up with the Supra tests, and digitized SPD curves alesh did.

Dude, I haven't turned anything around, sounds like your seeing the facts maybe. You are the one that brought my company into it just to talk false shit. I was not even in this argument and was letting you and everyone bitch all you want to each other. Then you started saying things about PLC that were untrue. Such as the sale price, discounted price and MSRP, and some email interaction. You said you emailed doing the sale and didn't get a discount on multiple and that the base price would have been $725. If that were true the base price would have been $650, and if you were to get multiple it could have been less depending on how many. But you never asked any of that nor did you do it during the sale like you were claiming otherwise you would know what the sale price was cause 725 was never an option of pricing before or during the sale. As well as the standard code was for $699. And if you did miss the sale late and emailed asking...you would have gotten the sale price, just like the people who order two days before the sale not knowing about it and not even using the 699 code...they were sent $100 back saying happy 420.

There was no need to even bring PLC into it, but you had to because it was a similar light and you are trying to justify your purchase. Good for you, but again, why are you slandering and spreading false information. Was that part of your discount? If the light stacks up it stacks up. And I offered a light for someone to sphere test. Or you can wait till ETL is done. Nothing to hide over here.

I did nothing but add your prices in. I never said anything negative about your company till you came here acting like a child. I stated the facts right off of your website exactly as they are. Want to hug and make up now? I hate bickering and I kinda like your lights too.
