Look up pacific light concepts optic grow lights or area 51. Look at the test from growershouse. For the 800 watt model it's ok at best

So im in the same boat, looking for a good LED. I could build a top of the line one using Cree CBX cobs based on a few DIY threads...but it would be nice to purchase something that would do the job of a 600 watt HPS. Just curious about what people have thought about the new Sylvania grow lamps or even the Spectrum King stuff.

I keep seeing the term bin. What are the differences and what should I be looking for when buying cxa3070's
Bonjour
The bin is a scale for cree cob.
And you should aim for cxB not cxa
Cxb 3590 top bin in 3500k is CD.
Go on kingbrite site and watch the cree cob they only have top bin in store
Have a great day ★

Take 8 cxb 3590 on 2 hlg 185-1400b and you have something even better and with more spread than a 600w hps (750 $)

Yea, I think I was leaning towards that same type of build. Only with 6 though, will those controllers be ok with 8 running at say 60%? I know its all a game of full power vs lifetime usage with the controllers and that's really what I have had a hard time figuring out. The 3590's don't really have any reference to controller...I guess because they are so new?

Anywhere you could recommend in UK as I'm not up for huge shipping costs

If your want to order cree or what he recommended you are probably going to need to ship over seas from Hong-Kong or North America. The only other option is too find a flat panel tv repair shop or some small mom and pop lighting shop.

Better off with hps or lec vs spectrum king. That said pacific light concepts will give you 600 hps yields for 1/2 the power draw/heat

Cree 3590 3500k 36V CD X 9 @1400mA will do the job pretty fine
Have a great day ★
3' x 3' = 9 sq/ft
Recommend 30w per sq/ft
9 x 30 = 270 watts should get the job done. 6 x CXB3070/3590 & 1.4A would get you there. The 3590 has higher efficiency vs the 3070 but both will perform very well for this task.
