Ideas needed for drying..

So I'm in the final stages of a 2 plant grow. My original plan was to use my tent to dry the plants as it had everything I need.. perfect temp, the ability to dial in the humidity, good air flow, it's dark and it had odor control.
Here is the problem, one plant finished way before the other. I maybe can wait 1 or 2 more days on it and the other plant needs at least 2 more weeks, maybe as much as a month. I really am at a loss as to where the hell I'm going to dry the first one. I simply don't have any other space where I have much of any control over environmental variables. My basement is the right temperature range but the humidity fluctuates between 28 and 40 for RH, which is too low. Not to mention I have no odor control down there.
Anybody have any ideas on what I can do? I'm kind of out of ideas of my own on this one...

I've build a small drying box, computer fan as an exhaust with passive intakes around the bottom. Still have not figured out exactly how I'm going to keep my humidity up though. I was thinking about putting a small container of water near the passive intakes and hope that evaporation is enough... anyone.have any thoughts on this?

Dry them in the tent. Light isn't an issue if the tent is clean and humidity is reasonable.

For real? I've seen a lot of folks talk about how light is really bad for drying bud. Then again, a lot of people say a lot of stupid shit. I'll dip some research and see what's out there. Thanks for the suggestion.

The issue is light encourages fungus growth. But if you're keeping a clean space, you should be fine. Ideally, it should be dark, but you've expressed that you can't have an ideal grow space, so that's my recommendation.

Use big cardboard boxes trim the plants tie string round end make a whole in the top of box hang the plant so ain't touching base or side pull the string out the top of the box tie it round something so the string don't go back in the box stab few airholes around the box for air movement and if u have room u could put them back in the ten coz the box is sealed there's no light . !!!!!

here is a simple solution.put a few flowers in many paper bags. open them 2 to 3 times aday stir up .have paper bags in a dry warm envirment , not hot ,not cold.paper slowly wikks moisture.buds provide their own humidity,you can dry them nice and slow this way.wet trim first.take out main thick stems.i dry mushrooms this way,and other herbs,when im camping.thats what i would do.basically.

As I said above, I did end up building a box. I actually have the temp and humidity diaed in pretty well so far. I just put a dish of water near the passive input if my RH stats dropping and I have the output fan of the box right by the input of my tent, so the air gets pulled through my carbon scrubber anyway. If I'm hearing it right it sound good and I might do the same. So your drying box is piped into your intake of your grow box so it goes threw the box and out your ventilation threw your carbon filter? You think you could use car cabin filets for your passive intake on the dry box? So no smell gets oUT of the passive intake on the dry box?

I have just enough fan speed that the negative pressure keeps the smell from coming out of the intakes on the box, but if you wanted to be extra safe you could definitely put some little carbon filter on the inputs.

light speeds up the degradation process of of thc. This is why people dry / cure bud in the dark.

Yeah, that seemed to be the consensus in all the research I did. I just ended up improvising a dying box. It worked really well honestly.

I've always wanted to try the cardbord box... I have pc fans but also have a tent. And am 1-2 weeks from my next harvest. I think I might take a page from your book and whip up a nice diy dry box

IMO having an exhaust on a drying chamber is a mistake...causes the bud to dry way too fast. Take a glance at this thread first I discuss how I use cardboard boxes with fantastic results. https://www.rollitup.org/t/drying-in-low-humidity.860602/
