2-3 weeks.................

Agrees with him .. BUT you CUD take the clones and put them into flowering as soon as they have a good root structure going .. but be carefull when u do this .. sometimes the buds get to heavy for the clones to hold ...so u will have to help it stay up... i.e. viagra... i wish they made that for plants!

nice 50 watt per sq foot so then a 5x2 sized closet= 10sq ft so a 500 watt lighting set up would get me by?????.........:joint:
with my closet dimension do u think a 600watt hps plus 10 cfl's would be over kill......reason for askin cuz when i finished my grow with cfl's i noticed the buds were very airy and fluffy ....i hooked my friends up wit sum and when asked for feedback i was told that it burned really quickly and that the buds were as tight as the ones in the medical lab........:joint:

You can go as high as 100 watts a square foot, if you keep 'em cool. Probably more, I don't know, never tried.

My 3x3x6 foot tent, 600 HPS when closed, first 3 hours every day.

Then I open my ten and turn on my CFL panels, a 1x2 90 watt panel on either side of my 600 and a 1x4 216 watt hanging vertical.
Total is just under a 1000 watts, temps 80 closed 82 open w extra lights.

I just added the front panel a few days ago.

I am just about to start a SOG with in 1.5 liter pots and 2 weeks veg.
Hydroton is my medium so they will stand in a pan for overflow.
I start the 2 weeks when the first root peaks thru the bottom of my 4" Rock wool cube.

The 4' panel I hung in the front of my tent burned out after 3 days hanging vertically.
in my tent and being on 6 hours a day.

It worked fine for over a year hanging as it was designed.

I'd probably do 3 gallon pots. On the topic though I heard from a Jorge Cervantes video that you should use more cylindrical pots as opposed to pots that taper at the bottom. Tapering at the bottom supposedly causes roots to bound faster. I'd consider bigger plants over many smaller plants. It could save you some legal headache depending on where you live.

What looks like nutrient def in those plants is caused by the lights being too close.

General rule of thumb is that flowering plants need about 4 times the floor space that veggers need. At 4 square feet of floor space per flowering plant you will need an empty warehouse to finish 40 plants. Try staggering your grow by vegging (maybe) 10 plants and then veg 10 more after the first 10 go to flower. This would require 2 different spaces or else hanging blankets.

Good luck, BigSteve.
