Don't go North of Eugene!

Stick to the south. Also the SW coast is ok, but you need to amend for out door...

30 min north of eugene would get you some sweet deals near sweet home area . south roseburg cottage grove . Eugene is a pretty good hub .Stay 20 min out of town and your looking at some pretty good prices . btw like everywhere else right now it's kind of a buyers market . rent can be high in town but i think we have some of the best water and cheepest power from what i hear . Bend is a nice hub . eugene is close to everything though coast , hills for 4x4 and ski/snowboarding . It's like bend but closer to the dunes if you like sandboarding or riding dirtbikes or quads on the sand . Next to glamis i think Oregon has the best dunes anywhere . Now we just gotta keep them guys from down south from moving in on us :) Just do me one favor we don't use the two blink method when driving around here . j/k hope you find a good place .

i may be wrong, but i have heard housing prices near bend have basically bottomed out. might be a good place to pounce on as it will likely gain value if the market has bottomed out or is close.

i would suggest finding some place with some elevation, as mold is a real problem near sea level. it is a trade off, though. higher elevation means a shorter season, but it might be worth it in the end if you escape the mold.

keep in mind, weed will sell for much less in this state, about half of what it does in cali. on the plus side, cost of living is not so bad.

good luck!

I own a home in Bend....I hope it has bottomed out...haha! My home has dropped about 150K in the last 5 years...lol.

Overall, you cannot go wrong with Bend on prices right now, in my opinion. You can, however, go wrong thinking you will get a job there. Grow weed if you move to Bend, and learn to fish.

I lived in the Santa Cruz Mountains before I moved to Baker, (northeast Oregon). Fairly cheap, no people to speak of, beautiful country, we have a Safeway and an Albertsons in the county, also game processing/butchers...

I wanted to live in Bend about 25 years ago, so did everyone else and most of them went there; that is why I didn't...

Im sure compared to the bay most places in Oregon will be cheeper. southern oregon is an awsome place to do outdoors but I would wanna live in the valley as its an hour to the coast, moutains,or desert. If ya come up bring some of those cali strains up with ya

wHello folks, clicked this thread because I'm thinking of moving to oregon in the spring, for the reason of starting a med grow somewhere warm, bad arthritis. After reserching the subject a little, I've only filled my head with more questions????? first and formost is this, if I go there is there a profitability in the Oregon med program. I know, It kinda goes against the grain of the compasion thing, however, not only am I trying to produce quality meds for myself, I'm also interested in creating an working retirement. I hope to be able to pay bills and survive as well. I've been fighting for disability and hit a wall at every turn "no help there". The laws state's you cannot eccept patient payment for anything other than your cost and the plants are the property of the patient? Is there a way for people doing this to come out even? there's alot of time and energy in a grow, how do you make it work?

With the way the laws are currently, you cannot legally pay all your home bills with meds. There are plenty of people doing it illegally, but it can be a hard market to break into if you are a complete outsider. The people selling it usually do not like to share their buyers, and vise versa.....haha.

I do hope you move here, and vote in 2012. We have a legalization measure called "The Oregon Cannabis Tax Act" or something like that. If we pass that, then we can pull the veil back on the industry, and truly shine!

I just moved to pdx from far nor cal, and I love it here. I too am looking to eventually try and sell some meds, as that's what I've been doing for many years in cali. The prices in cali are pretty bottom of the barrel, BUT they have clubs, so it's *kind of* easier to get rid of it (though I would not recommend ANY cash croppers move to cali at the moment. the very last thing cali needs is another grower... there are already more than the market can handle). What kind of market is in pdx/oregon for super high quality top-shelf meds? I can't see how it could be less than it is in cali right now (125/zip and that was a several months ago, now that outdoor is flooding, you can't even get into a club to see anyone, and it's going for about 700/elbow).

I've got my first doctors appointment next week, then I'll give MAMA a call to see what I need to do from there to get legal. Cali doesn't know how fucking easy they have it hah!
