I think weed's been making me sick.

I've had a reoccurring sickness for 2 years, less frequent at first but it's go to the point where i'm only fit for 2-3 days before it starts again.
I wake up one morning feeling like i've smoked 50 bongs in my sleep, like my eyes are completely fucked and i feel weary and off but i can't go back to sleep properly. All day i suffer hot flushes/sweats and irritability, i only feel a bit better if i keep rested.

The second day i wake up feeling even more weary sometimes with a headache, if i don't wake up with it it'll start shortly after usually when i'm reading. At this point i feel awful, i have to stop reading and lie down. It feels a lot like a bad hangover.
I get extremely irritable and rage at small things. Bad arguments whirl around my head all day. I feel like i've been poisoned, all i can really do is lie there and wait for the malaise to pass.

On the third day i have lost the hangover feeling but now it's into my guts and i suffer cramps and frequent shitting. I'm usually still irritable and aggressive with flushes.

4th day i feel alright.

5th day i feel fine, i go out running or do whatever.

6th day it starts again.

The 6th day this time was yesterday so i had no choice but to put down the weed to break my usual habits, how can i wake up feeling like i've smoked 50 bongs if i don't have any weed ?, i thought.
I took an amitriptyline to get me off to sleep, i wake up today feeling groggy but well slept. Definitely with no poison like symptoms.

So, weed is making me sick and has been doing for a long time. Because i need it to sleep it's the last thing i have pointed the finger at.

I don't smoke, i gave up vaping early this year. I eat butter now.
I put about 6oz into 3 sticks of butter and i eat a quarter teaspoon a few hours before sleep every night. About 70-80% of the time i'll have the same dose in the evening to chill with.
I was dosing 2 teaspoons at night not long since but i gave up gluten for a while, my dose dropped but that's another story.

I've reduced my dose dramatically but the symptoms have only got worse.

I lift weights, eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly. As far as i can tell i'm fit between bouts. I feel fine now, if i don't touch weed i assume i'll stay this way.

I've been using weed since i was 13/14. I'm 30 now.

I'm hoping i can stop relying on it for sleep and reintroduce it recreationally. I'll see how it goes

There was another thread couple of months back on this subject but I didn't follow it. Has everything else been ruled out?

Are you familiar with rem sleep? depending on when you wake, it can have a huge impact on how you are during the day after rising.

No not not everything has been ruled out yet, i just know i feel significantly more hammered on these days and my eyes are so heavy. It's like all the bad effects from weed turned up a notch so it is in the firing line at the moment. I still felt exhausted yesterday but i was content and happy. All i can do is abstain for a week or 2. If i get a week without being sick that will be a great thing so i don't have long to wait.
I have a lot of symptoms of chronic fatigue which might come from a stressful life (i look after my mum who has emphysema) and i'm locked into a weights routine that has me eating 6 meals a day so i never fall asleep early and i go to sleep around sun rise. It's a bad habit i know.
I feel like i've lost IQ points after every bout, i get thought loops and sometimes i have serious memory problems.

I really like weed so it's a shame. If i get sick again without weed i'll go straight to the docs. At least this will be a tolerance break.
I have 2 Motavations in their last week :(

I thought the amitriptyline might help my quality of sleep. I'm hoping it's not liver related, but i feel so stoned without taking anything on these days.
I'll let you know how it goes.
I'm fit for the next 2 days at least !

Thanks for the replies, i needed to speak amongst other users.

get a blood test , and piss test, full physical , it will tell you what is wrong, its prob some thing stupid, fixed with medicine, your systems sounds like mine doo, and I have weak kidneys, so go get it checked, might be as simple in changing your diet to feel better , no fast food salt caffeine. liquor, or red meat, and limit potassium, potatoes bananas, my diet, hey but I feel good . point is man up get it checked out, it will only hurt when its time to pay the doctors bills !!!!!

I've had a reoccurring sickness for 2 years,
Chances are you been getting your smoke
from a MMJ dispensary?
I have friends that been hospitalized with reoccurring chest pains after
getting smoke from shops.
I always stay far far away from pot shops.

do a thyroid test, I've read somewhere some people who smoke a lot of MJ, started having some of your symptoms, which turned out to be a thyroid problem.
you're a nice gentelman for taking care of your mother, wish you both all the best

Well i'm 5 days in without weed, i should be starting to feel ill today but i had a great sleep last night, i feel the best yet. Crazy crazy dreams i'm getting.
I don't think weed is the cause, i think it's helped keep me in a bad routine which has pushed me into fatigue. I've been completely exhausted these last few days, flaking out in the middle of the day but my jobs have kept me going. For all i've been so tired i haven't been sleeping that well but i got 8 hours last night.

I think i have an internet addiction, i don't need to go out to work so i'm online all day/night reading forums, stressing at news stories, watching liveleak, and jacking off.
It all ends now, including jacking off lol.
I haven't been able to watch TV/films in a good while, i just couldn't stay focused and i'd always end up online because the laptops right next to me.
I gonna learn my uke, i think that's a nice mellow thing to do.
Maybe i should consider meditation.

Hopefully i'm on the mend and i'l be able to use again when i'm better.. What a sick twist of fate that i can't use Motavation because of fatigue.

Someone posted this TED talk about arousal addiction and it's made me think about how constantly looking for new stimulation is affecting me. If i get ill again i'll report back. Maybe this thread will help someone. Thanks for listening.
