I think we need a sticky for what lights to use.

I think it would be a good idea to put a sticky up to let people know what lights to use for veg growth and what ones for flowering. Like cool, soft, warm, and what ever else is out there.

What? You have just as many newbies asking the same questions about hid lighting. If it is not a good idea than forget it.

just look at the color temps of the bulbs your using and lumen output... go from there

for veg youd want 5k-7k (cool) id say and flower, around 3k (warm), if you can find under that, then go for it, but i havent seen any.. the plant will like the same wavelengths of light, regardless of the source (HID, CFL, sun) so just get CFLs with similar traits to the HID you WISH YOU HAD

haha, just playing i use cfls as well, they're cheap and coldblooded... simply savage

Because with HID lights it is pretty much MH or HPS. With the cfls it is daylight, soft, cool, and warm. I know that i was confused as hell when i first went to look for bulbs. Anyways i guess most people read the grow jurnals and get most of the info on lights in it.

I sticky about this couldnt be a bad thing.

Iv seen alot of HID questions such as:
Mh or HPS? 400 or 600? Do i need a ballast? Will an MH bulb go in a HPS system?

Anyone else seen these questions alot?

Maybe this would help clear things up. Maybe they should just go read the growFAQ.

Buster I just posted a question about this ( https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/41963-cfl-setup-different-stages-growth.html ), and I think it would be a great idea. I read this and other forums for a month. I also read a couple of books, and I'm still a little confused.

When a newbie goes out light hunting the different spectrums and cool vs. soft vs. daylight vs. warm etc. can get confusing. It would certainly put an end to the new threads such as mine. Try searching for 6500K 42 watt CFL and see all the different information you come up with. Even if you find the right information, you don't know if the person presenting it is right or not. I know I'm a noob, but I think it would help a lot of people without cluttering the board with repeat questions.
