hey fdd, just thought id mention this to you cause im about to try it. dont know if you are concerned with quiting the cigs or not, but if so, i have heard wonderful things about that new "chantix" pill.... my closest friend has been cigarette free for 160 days now after trying every other method to quit after using this stuff; i'm gonna look into it after we get a little more money in a few weeks. not preachin, but i imagine you know where i am coming from... hell, i have to quit; i'm smokin from between 1-2 packs a day at only 23yrs old

chantix users are exposed to a dramatically increased risk of having a brain aneurysm... just so you know.

You really should be more careful fdd. What the hell would we do if you burned up in your own tent? I for one would be lost without you.

I was at my GP back in April and saw a sign for a new quit smoking drug, so I picked up a leaflet and took it. I did some research and this 'Chantix' appears to be the same drug.

A WARNING

The drug works by 'turning off' or blocking the nicotine receptors in the brain. In other words, you smoke to get a nicotine hit, but this stuff stops the 'hit'.
The problem is, there are increasing reports of people having their entire 'pleasure center/centre' affected. That is, people suffering severe depression, suicides and other depression related effects and conditions.

What are the possible side effects and safety information of CHANTIX?
Some patients have reported changes in behavior, agitation, depressed mood, suicidal thoughts or actions when attempting to quit smoking while taking CHANTIX or after stopping CHANTIX. If either you, your family, or caregiver notice agitation, depressed mood, or changes in behavior that are not typical for you, or if you develop suicidal thoughts or actions, stop taking CHANTIX and call your doctor right away. Also tell your doctor about any history of depression or other mental health problems before taking CHANTIX, as these symptoms may worsen while taking CHANTIX.
The most common side effects of CHANTIX include:

  • nausea (30%)
  • sleep problems (trouble sleeping, or vivid, unusual, or strange dreams)
  • constipation
  • gas
  • vomiting
These are not all the side effects of CHANTIX. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
Use caution driving or operating machinery until you know how quitting smoking and/or using CHANTIX may affect you.

Hopefully a lot of people can read these threads and learn a lot from them.... there is a lot to benefit from watching others mistakes, though, sometimes I think it would be easy to do the same things without even realizing it.... I really hope I don't make that fatal error.

I think it's already been spelled out for you, but DON'T try Chantix.I believe there are some lawsuits already. My old man quit smoking cold turkey. He said it took about two weeks before food tasted right, but after that, it was even better.Have you tried just smoking pot every time you want a cigarette?Pot is a big help when kicking an addiction.

Thats ridiculous.... I would never take some stupid ass pill to stop smoking... Mostly because I don't smoke cigs... I have, and i've done it almost all day once, but I never feel the need or urge to smoke another... I guess i'm gifted.

Wow Fdd, you need to stop trying to burn yourself up.

I quit smoking just over 3 months ago. I did the patch for the first couple of days, but then started having trouble remembering to put the stupid thing on, so just went cold turkey after that. When I'd get that really bad urge for a cig, I'd smoke out of my hitter, kind of similar.

My husband used to be really bad about not just dozing with a cig but actually making snoring noises as well. Then he'd deny being asleep when I shake him awake. He used to leave cigs bunring on the bathroom sick, kitchen counter, falling out the ashtray. Since I quit I kicked the smokers outside with their habit. Now he sits on the hood of the car in the garage to smoke. Don't think he'll be falling asleep like that.

One last thing, I happend to notice in your tent and "tree" picture. Are you growing those upside down tomato plants?

In Montana you have to get a Dr to sign a document,it's not a script, then you have to fill out some papers. You have to say who your care giver is( grower) and they get to grow 6 plants for you and an ounce of dry, you can have multiple patients and thus grow for each. Or you can grow for yourself the same 6 plants and an ounce of dry.You too can grow for other patients they just all need to be listed, and have a valid card. The problem is you have to name names and address' of everyone involved and the kicker too is you have to give the state 100. bucks every year to keep your card valid. Then who knows about the Feds, they can come fuck with you anytime they want, that's where I have a problem with the naming thing. We just, as a state got it voted in and believe me when i say it wasn't so easy to get some hard core good ol boys to see it as a medical need but we persevered:peace:
