I need to buy a small video camera to catch some sleaze ball in the act. Any ideas?

Here's something to remember, I'm pretty sure those wi-fi cams are for live viewing only so if you want proof of the crime, you will need a digital recorder. Also, you may want to buy a covert camera which comes disguised as a smoke detector or something innocuous because I doubt anyone is going to break into the safe with a camera pointing at them. My advice is to definitely get something because when a criminal gets away with a crime, it is usually just a matter of time before they try it again. Let me know if I can help as I'm in the security biz.

Cool, thanks I really appreciate it. Like you said i definitely need to be able to record stuff or to be able to get notified of motion or something and then choose to record it or not.

Have you looked at either link above? Does either of them look good? Pinny's is really cheap but I don't know if it records or if it's just live.

It does everything you need. Records video (motion activated or otherwise), takes jpeg sequences... And, it's free.

are you sure it wasnt like mismanagement of money?
Well it looks as if someone with a key came in after hours and helped themselves to the safe. We don't keep too much money in the safe for that very reason, but at 2:30 pm yesterday there was an audit done and it totaled $780. Then when I opened at 4:30 there was $135. Like someone just grabbed a stack of 20's and any bigger bills they could find.

The guy who closed has worked here for a few years with no issues.

My morning baker told me about a new employee's boyfriend or husband who looks like a "gangster," though.... In Spanish she said he apparently has been around the restaurants when she works and has even opened the fucking safe before?!?! Sounds shady as fuck- not sure why anyone who isn't an employee should be around the fucking safe.

Either way I'm firing her ass later today- just for the simple reason that he isn't an employee and shouldn't be anywhere but in a fucking booth eating food.

Yes, that camera looks good, It has motion detection, which you need. He also has linked you to a cloud based recording site which you will need if you want to record so yes, I think he has given you a good option. Like I said though, I doubt they will do it again if they see the camera there. Or they may try to disrupt the camera. I suggest getting multiple cameras and have one watching the door that enters the safe room. Take this as a lesson learned and make the necessary adjustments before you pay a much larger price. Good luck.
