I made $700 smoking weed!

Alright, i didn't get payed just to blaze some joints. But i did make a bunch of cash in the process of smoking! After doing a ton of research, i ended up choosing to invest in the company Xerium Technologies Inc. (XRM) at a rate of .47 cents a share (this was at its all time low on March 2). I bought $1,000 dollars worth of the company and got 2,127 shares. I sold all of my shares just before the company peaked today, at .80 cents a share. I ended up with a return of $1,701. Now i know that not all days will be like this in the NYSE, in fact days can turn really ugly if someone is not careful with their investments. But i think that with some studying of a stock, and a little help from the chronic gods (i smoked 3 jays before executing the original purchase) a person can really make some serious $$ in the stock market. Thats my little tidbit for the day, hope it helps someone out there! :leaf:

That's awesome! I did a little bit of investing in gold myself I didn't hold onto it too long but I had like 7 ounces that I profitted about 100-300$ an oz.

I probably sound like the whitest middle aged half bald loser, but I'm only 20, besides my best friend slangs to wiz (well technically his manager always rolls threw) up in the 412. i met wiz a few months ago when i went down to pitt for a show, he was real cool. he puffed 8 jays in about 45 minutes.

Nothing wrong at all with that :joint: I really could get used to working with stocks from my own home. I mean i can walk around puffing jays while trading stocks and making money! talk about potentially an amazing job. It's just risky if you don't do a lot of research before. much different than i thought it was going to be, but a place where someone could make a lot of $ if they use their brain. That's my kind of job!

btw that video is real funny, he looks Chinese with those puffy eyes

For sure something Ill be lookin into as an unemployed 20year old smoker. Any tips for a first time trader? Or is it just personal research & a lil bit of luck?

the best tip is to watch cnbc. i know it sounds stupid but you can learn a lot from what they say about a company. Also- start small. just invest in 40 or 50 shares of a company thats worth 10 dollars a share, that way you can't burn yourself to hard. Plus- look for trends. ex. if all the solar companies stocks are starting to rise upwards- there is a good chance the whole sector will continue to rise. Just do a lil research on investing and you can totally get started really easily. Check out scottrade.com as a broker btw- i like the site.

Yeah stock market is a great place to make money just needs a little bit of time... just like growing

The stock market, IMO, is a great place to give your money to some real fucked up criminals that will smile while they fuck you good and deep in the ass!!! If u want to invest your money, YOU INVEST IT, NOT SOME SMUCK in a fucking fancy suit he bought from fucking other gullible shitstains! If we havent learned yet, there is a reason why INVESTING is AT A ALL TIME LOW!!! People are starting to realize how fucking easy it is to get fucked, especially by people that dont know you, or care!

Nice man, about a year ago I was watching Tesoro for a few months. When it hit rock bottom I bought 2K. Took a few months but it evenually doubled. Took that 2K I made and put it towards my son's car fund ;)

Also a great way to make a bit of money but requires a little bit more investment capital $$ and a bit more time to make significant profits..

forex is a great way to make some money. i wouldn't trust any software that says it will make you money guaranteed through forex, though. it's a big scam because a market cannot be controlled or "played" by software. but, as an individual investor, foreign exchange can be a good place to earn profits.

yes and since youre interested I will bring to your attention that the Iraqi Dinar is fuken cheap right now and some people think it will grow.. for one American dollar you get 1100 dinars.. for a hundred bucks you can buy 100k dinar :D maybe in 10-15 years when all the government there will be fully Americanized (yikes hope I wont get in trouble for this) and there will be mc donalds everywhere it would probably go down to 14 dinars to a buck.. which is absolutely reasonable for a semi-industrialized/developing democratic country... can you imagine the profits?

I personally do not own any shares of Apple. My parents both do, probably because they can afford it and I can't. I think when i was seriously looking at it the shares were around $400 a piece, which was just too much for me at the time. but a great company none the less.

Actually, I saw something about this on cnbc, i think they were saying that within 10 years it should be more stabilized. IDK though, it's hard for me to trust my own government, let alone the Iraqi one....
