is that normal to have them show their sex at 12 nodes?
i started from seeds more than 2 months ago.......im looking at the plants and dont see very many signs.........have a few that i think are females but not sure just yet

i usually see preflowers between the 8th and 12th node. it usually takes until they are 12 nodes high to see them well enough to make a call. but they will typically be on and between the 8th and 12th nodes.:blsmoke:

thankx for the info
on a side note
when u are trimming those huge trees in october/november do u just take a few branches off of the plants to trim at a time or do u cut the whole thing down and work on it.........i have found that the fresher it is the easier the trimming..............

Looking good. I got some mango, widow skunk, and jack herer growing outdoors, there about 4 weeks old and they have about 10 nice thick nodes, not to mention i just Fimmed them. Ill FIM them again when the time is right (Im hoping for a nice yield) I think im gonna attempt to take cuttings from these plants and keep the clones outdoors hopefully i have enough time for them to grow properly. Any suggestions on how old my plants should be before taking cuttings ?

How old on average are one of your plants when they have 8-12 nodes? Just curious because mine are going on 5 weeks old and have about 10 nodes. :peace:

starting to see some signs of sex.........most of the ones that are showing are females but we are talking about 3 or 4 out of 25........hopefully about 2 weeks from knowing so i can move the males into breeding places outside the greenhouse in special places and getting some more widows in there to take their place

like the way you took them clones, i was taking some cuts myself the other day and was thinking about doing it this way, i didnt but couldnt think of a reason not to, would i be right in thinking if you took clones that way with two growth tips on the main stem of each clone and flowered them with little veg time and applied them to a sea of green method(indoors) then you would end up with plants that have two main colas as opposed one that you would normally have in a sea of green of small clones, or would the upper growth tip take the lead so to speak and become the main cola with the lower growth tip ending up as like a secondary smaller cola? like the idea of pollenating the preflowers too, my preflowers normally end up being left on the stems after drying and trimming etc so to get some seeds out of them would be great, sorry to waffle on just your pics have given me some food for thought. +rep
