We got one of those 2 cup machines from Gevaila {free with purchase of coffee} about thirty years ago. I use it at my river camp {where I have electricity}. The pot got broke about three cleaning ladies ago, but it works fine with a big mug underneath. It makes a good cup of coffee. But I don't stay at the river camp very much anymore. With an old house trailer, electric lights and running water just 100 yards away at the fish ponds, it was getting too plush for me. My current camp is tarps and paracord. You appreciate that cup of coffee so much more when it takes half an hour to get the fire going.

Yeah man, the dark side of the forbidden fruit, all the pooping.
It's great, that's how I know my levels are at peak in the morning.
I drink until I poop then I head out for the day.
It's a razors edge we ride, those days when I'm forced out before it happens.
It's gonna happen but where and when is the question.

French press tastes good but unfiltered coffee is bad for you and raises cholesterol.

Pour over is the way to go. If you brew a pot, 15 minutes later it garbage.
Fresh cup every time and it costs less than $20. Round filters are about a penny each.

Put in enough coffee for one cup. Pour in a small amount of 200 degree water, enough to get the grounds wet. Wait 30 seconds, this is called "the bloom."

Then pour enough water over to fill your cup.

Better than drip and healthier than French press.
After about 4 tries I got a great cup. Paying attention to:

Coffee freshness (a biggie, but not practical to have beans a week old or less)
Grind size
water temp
time for grounds to "bloom"
2 minute pour over

Great success. I don't need any sweetner or milk. Thanks for the suggestion @Trousers

I geeked out almost as much as this guy:
