One of my friends has asthma, he takes asthline daily and has this other inhaler which he must puff from in case of emergency although it is very rarely used. I'll get the exact details in a few hours. He is quite inquisitive and wants to try cannabis. I have some really good indica. Is it safe for him to smoke a joint?? i think he'll be floored in bout 5-6 puffs...the shits quite good...but is it safe...dunno how else to arrive at a conclusion...can anyone help... Thanks ;)

There always a risk, depending of the severity of asthma and harshness of dope..lol.......seriously though HE'LL BE FINE......smoke away, just use common sense, moderation is the key for a first timer.GL.peace..............for the record I recommend a VAPORIZER:)

Vaporizing would be a lot safer, especially if the vaporizer had a chiller....some way to cool the vapor before inhalation. Even on perfectly grown and cured bud there are harmless mold spores that could directly trigger bronchial tightening in someone with asthma...if you do not have access to a vaporizer then a tightly screened bowl, bong, or any other smoking device would be preferable to a joint for your friend; The longer the smoke has to travel the better to cool the smoke for your friend.

Cannabis is beneficial for asthma patients because the smoke/vapor opens up bronchial passageways. However, to benefit you must inhale it, not ingest it other ways, so the smoke will come in contact with lung tissues.

It invalidates everything we have ever heard about inhaling smoke, but for asthma patients cannabis smoke is good for you.

I have asthma and since I started smoking weed in my teens, my inhaler usage went down a ton. Certain strains aggravate it, but most open the bronchials and help clear out any fluid. Vapes work the best. If I ever wake up at night with problems, I hit my vape, it works the same as my inhaler, except it gets me high and makes it easier to go back to sleep. I'm in my 30's now and 1 inhaler lasts well over a year.

I know 2 or more people who no longer have asthma BECAUSE they smoked weed. Not even using a vape.
The case doesnt seem severe, so i would give it a shot, but just have the inhaler handy.

I've literally seen someone smoke a joint whom was having a life threatening asthma attack and save her life. She had never used cannabis until that day, never used any drugs at that other than sugar and dumb dr. prescribed pills that were supposed to help. Now she's a daily user and uses it for the asthma still!

I've have and have-had asthma all my life; smoking weed has not increased my attacks. Come 4/20 I will be smoking like a coal train. Go ahead and smoke. People on oxygen still vape and eat edibles.

the weed will relax your bronchial tubes, which are what is enflammed. this is much better than steroids that reduce the inflamation IMO because vape hits although its still bad to "smoke/vape" you are controlling the temperature and inhaling less toxins, the ones that have a boiling point above thc's boiling point. i think its better to inhale that than the side effects from steroids. i dont even know the side effects from rescue inhalers
