I HAVE 6 PLANTS ON A 12 12 LIGHT CYCLE FROM SEED...TIPS TO MAXIMIZE YIELD.

They will grow till they mature then they will flower, the overall yields will be diminished

i guess its difficult to now by how much by.. do you think if everything else goes ok with the grow the harvest will still be reasonable?

Totaly depends on several different factors, no one can say, grow em and see

There`s a few options you can do

Can you change your lighting times ?

If so the easy way is around 2 weeks after they show sex boost up the day time to 14 or 16 hours for 2 weeks then go back to 12/12

Another method is to use more blue spectrum light to get the plants to grow more, they will flower slowly and carry on growing longer (you`ll need to add more red light later to get them to fatten up and doing this will make them take longer to finish but you`ll get more bud)

you could also try some gibberellic`s to get the plant to focus on vegetative growth but its easy to end up with a stretchy plant when you play with some PGR`s

Last you can just take clones from the lower nodes and root them that way yield is not as important

Or I`ve had luck using gibberellic acid`s to get a plant to re-veg after harvest while keeping the lights at 12/12

Then you can do anything you`d normally do to a plant during veg or flower to up the yield, train`em, top`em, tie`em down, drug them and so on

you need to seek dell666 thread in 12/12 from seed thread.. he has dedicated most of his grow to that very type of growing and great yields I might add, but no where close to a plant with a lil veg time

Is there a reason you can't give those plants more light and veg longer? You could easily put the flowering plants in a dark room and keep that light going or you could run the light at night and put the vegging babies in sunlight during the day, get creative.

I've yielded 2oz's off a good sativa and an 1\8 off a low yielding kush.

I run nearly all my plants 12\12 from seed and reveg the keepers for mommas

i guess sativa are quite a bit longer overall to grow as opposed to indica plants so the have time to catch up if on a shorter light cycle

flowering plants are to big to keep moving about every night...

I doubt it....
But that's up to you and how much effort your willing to give.. I like growing in 36 gallon runbermaids, flowered my master kush mom that was several years old not long ago...after watering I certainly couldn't lift that girl, but sliding was easy enough....
You could still just mess with the youngins, no need to flower from seed

My flowering room is on 24\7 and I use the other bedroom as a dark room to rotate crops. A single 1k light can yield 1/2lb a week going perpetually like this.

Sativa's are great with this method, the example I gave still flowered 9-10 weeks I don't remember, like many ogs and what not, so yield definitely isn't proportionate to time. Some strains need to be worked, in general topping a sativa kills yield

i have a 8 by 4 tent this is my grow and my flowering room at the mo i have a walk in wardrobe and 8 tubes of blue spec t5' for it i have to get the actual light unit for it in jan until then i am confined to me tent. the aim is to get a perpetual grow on the go, thats the whole reason while im doing this.. i have a friend who has been growing for 6 years now an helps me out .when i get the t5 unit its all about a crop a month-)

i have a nyc diesel on the go at the mo this plant is sativa dominant 1 month into flower and by the look of the plant ill be lucky to get 1/2 ounce dry-)...i did top her once so in future i wont top sativa plants so that was good to learn from you thx-)

I`d just run my lights for 16 hours any time my jars were full and my plants looked small other wise I`d just run 12/12 or 10/14 or 14/10 depends what other tricks I`m pulling there`s too many lights on too many sets of timers now all in the effort of longer days but faster flowering, think I`m pushing 14/10 and their still finishing as fast as 12/12 if the get red light from day 1

I can stall them out and get them to veg longer in the blue part of the tent

you should do that have a box low down for the 1st week to month with lots of blue light and 5000k is a low as you want to go with them

They may show hairs in a few weeks but I`ve held plants in my blue area before to the point where I`ve finished the others and have say 40 to 60g plants and by then I`m pulling up the oldest from that batch up to the redder high power area

the plant I pull up will be around 30cm to 50cm and have buds the side of a 5p coin, it`ll have lots of branches and more leaves then the others, normally they`ll get up to double what the other plants did, most strains won`t ever give you over 6oz`s but maybe if I had a bit more height I could give them a bigger pot in the blue area and get them bigger

But yeah try playing with blue spectrum and cool whites with them when their young.

Going 12/12 will result in no (minimal) branching and a small yield. Expect 7-15g depending on strain. I am going 12/12 with a Sleestack Skunk freebie I got from Herbies. She hasn't shown pistils yet, but has all the signs of being female. I'm keeping her on the outskirts of my garden, under a 400w MH Lamp and she seems to be happy. As soon as she shows pistils, I will transplant and try to move her closer to the Lamp. Happy Growing !

Why are you only doing 4 plants in a 4 x 8? Second, why are you doing 12/12 from seed in a 4 x 8? You could fit more like 200ish plants in that size tent if you want to do 12/12 from seed or have plants that are 4 x 4 x whatever the height of you tent minus hoods in that space.

the four plants i have in flower pretty much fill the tent gonna train the plants more on my second run to maximise space-)
