Yes I considered that, we do have a lot of minerals in the water in the seirra foothills due to the limestone and iron content of the soil. I considered a RO filter, but at the moment I can't afford it. Thats next on my 'gotta get' agenda.

Ya think? Ive been using test strips to check the ph and use ph down in my watering. Maybe a more accurate measuring system would be better. Anybody try the drops? Can't afford a ph pen at the moment.

the drops and strips are a horrible method. i started out using drops and my eyeballing was 6.5 and not 6. It's not good enough, a pen is worth every penny!!!
