HAS ANYONE used Pyola to rid the kids of spider mites? I found nothing on a search on the site. its supposed to be good for vegetables as well. Garden's alive sells it and likely many other places.

you made my day with this post man
Supermites haha
damn they survied the big bomb eh ?
I fucking hate bugs man,you work everything out and they come out of no where like little bums clinging to your love. I would say to try to use the tobacco tea, you can always use warm water to get the left over off, if it doesn't come off by itself
Burn in hell little bastards !
Good luck mate

Ok, so check this out. I am no stranger to bugs and bug problems I have had to fight my fair share of the lil bastards in the past but I have NEVER encountered mofos as powerful as the ones I am about to describe to you.

when I dunked, i completely submerged them, when I sprayed, I saturated the tops and bottoms of the leaves...here we go

So when I got the clones I noticed a few of these lil mongrels.. I mixed up a solution of neem oil, dishwashing soap, and safer insect soap.

I dunked the clones in the mixture every three days for two weeks. I had cloned the clones successfully and hadnt noticed em too bad but continued to spray with neem/water every five days or so.

As I noticed em more and more I started spraying the lil shits with a product called hot pepper wax which is a cayenne pepper spray I think. I would spray them thorougly every other day.

eventually I started flowering and noticed a few here and there so I alternated spraying them with hot pepper wax, fox farms dont bug me, and neem oil/ safer soap/water combo.

a few weeks in to flowering a couple of my plants started to speckel really bad so i bombed them with a .05 percent pyrethrum bomb. A few days later under inspection of a microscope I saw the lil bastards running around.

So I decided to buy a commercial 4.0 percent pyrethrum bomb which isnt even supposed to be used in residential applications! So I bombed them today, waited about 6 hours, went in picked off a leaf and.....

THE MOTHERF*CKERS ARE STILL ALIVEE!!!!!

I have never encountered such resistant spider focks in all my life and I am at my wits end!!

I am about to hit 4 weeks into flower so I cannot bomb my babies any more and have tried about everything that has ever worked for me.. now on one of my babies im starting to see the lil fucks weaving webs on one of the leafs!!

the only other option I can imagine at this point is brewing up a nicotine spray but I am worried that It will get in my buds and make em all nasty tasting like cigarettes:spew:!!

My other concern is that If I bombed these bastards with 4.0 percent pyrethrum bomb even when I cut this whole crop down are they still gonna be milling around my room? I could bomb them every day for a week and they would still be kickin:evil::evil:!!

Has anyone ever had this much trouble with these lil bastards?
Does anyone have any suggestions on products I can use this late into flower? I am truly at a loss for words!:confused::confused:

99% of what you read about controlling spider mites won't work on what you have. I know because I have the same thing. By dunking you are getting the best coverage possible. On a plant of any size spraying is just not thorough enough if you have a major infection with many hundreds of eggs per leaf finger. I also dunk with Permethrin but I add Floramite to the mixture along with a surfacant like dawn and presto the little bastards are gone, eggs and all. Of course you will miss an egg or two and that is all it takes to get the fuckers started again. You will be free of them for some time 3-4 weeks. Keep monitoring the level of infection and when it starts to take off retreat. Spraying will work at control but you will need to apply more often. Good Luck

well depending on your level of infestation and the mites you have some of these techniques work.. i covered another thread in my signature which covered all the treatments i have used including floramite. just so happens that the mites passed around the club clones are the most resistant because they have been exposed to everything under the sun

I have been going through the same shit with some killer spider mites here. Tried everything just like you...

I've spoken to several experts and everyone says the same thing... Floramite.

But that stuff is over $200 a quart and I just don't have that kind of cash.

My hydro shop guy suggests getting together with a couple other people locally and splitting it up since one quart is way more than any of us small time personal growers would need in an entire lifetime of growing, so I'm currently seeking a few people to split the costs and go in on a quart.

Anyway they say it's systemic and gets into the plant tissue and mites have no chance against it. He swears that you can treat a plant and stick it in the middle of the most infested grow and that plant will stay mite free.

Dangerous stuff though. He said you need a respirator while applying it and to be covered up completely with no exposed skin etc etc.

I can't wait to try it. Nothing is getting rid of these mites so far and I'm just sick to death of them. They cost me my entire last crop, every plant I had except one and now that one (c99) is near death itself. I haven't even started another grow yet I'm still just trying to get rid of these little fucks.

They must have built up a resistance to all the other stuff.

everything you say is true, however avid is the miticide which is systemic.. floramite is non systemic but has a residue that repels them and stays active for i think 29 days.. i wiped out a colony of mites on some new clones i recieved with floramite

Speaking of itchy... I have been having an allergic reaction when I smoke and get really itchy and have to take an antihistamine. Never had this problem before in many many years of growing but then again I have never had this kind of trouble with mites either.

I've been thinking it's either the mites or something I sprayed.

Anyone else have this problem after getting spider mites?

And yea maybe it was Avid he was talking about as far as a systemic miticide... Which is better does anyone know? I can find an 8oz of avid for under $100...

Also does anyone know if I could buy the floramite or avid and ebay or craigslist some small bottles of it to offset the cost or would there be some legal or shipping reason I couldn't do that?

i know you used to be able to get floramite on ebay however i think they may have shut that down..

i know some hydro stores sell floramite under the counter so if you are tight with the guys who work there they could hook you up.. thats how i got mine

otherwise just order some online and you will be str8

I'm not tight with the hydro shop guys. I don't go there enough or spend enough.

:(

I looked on ebay and there are full quarts selling but at very high prices.

I decided I will just take the hit and buy the stuff on a credit card. It's hard for me to give in and do that but if I don't I'm not going to be able to grow.
I have them knocked down now, finally, but they'd just come back. All the crap I used nearly killed the plant. It looked horrible.

I'm going to have to germinate some old bagseeds just to get going now because that one plant that's left is just the daytime smoke, c99, not enough for my chronic pain.

From experience and I tried all the remedies out there and the only thing that worked was PREDITOR MITES. Luckly I was fortunate to have a local distributur and didn't have to mail order them. I bought 500 spidex is what the company called them (Phytoseiulus persimilis is the scientific name) for around 15.00 us dollars and it was the best investment I made. Within 4 weeks all the two spotted fuckers were defeated and the preditor mites either starve or eat each other no harm to the plants. And the lady bugs I tried but they don't eat and breed as easily as the preditor mites do and the trick to keep ladybugs from flying into your lights is with mixiing two tablespoons of sugar & water and using a hand sprayer and lightly spray the lady bags as you release them. The reason I got mites was from going out to my grows that were outdoors and then coming in and tickering inside my growroom. But just my 2cents.

Thanks for all the help in this thread guys. I learned something - tobacco tea.

I just had to bomb the hell out of my room over the past couple weeks. Floromite seemed to have done the trick in the end.. (had to end up using 2 in succession) but I went through several methods and have only half the hair on my head left. :P Plus they were looking a little burnt out from all the 'special attention'. I'll try this first next time for sure. (..next time.. knock on wood there is none).

Good to hear this did the trick for your babies!

 I have had to deal with the frustration of a strain of "super-mites" that could live thru a "bunker-buster" bomb, even.... I am sure! Here are some things we have done to get rid of these things: neem oil, (that smells good, and fries my plants, really well, and yes, we shut off the lights, first) completely dipping clones in neem oil, and then pyrithens mixture, Dr. Doom spray, safer soap, so many pyrithens bombs... like at least 30, over the last 8 years, safer soap, lady bugs.... they all died... preymathises, a few times... once they hatched in my kitchen, and we had thousands of preymathises all up my vaulted ceilings... predator mites.... growing enough to vacuum seal herb and freeze, and smoke on that for 5 years, bongsmiliewhile completely replacing all hydro equipment... bombing and spraying with every kind of nasty pesticide, before moving anything at all, in.... going to the bay area and buying new clones.... being so careful, when coming in from outside... something like going in for surgery.... with the hand washing... and all... (yes we are plagued, outside, with these lil bastards, too...) Like so over the top, careful.... guess what? WE HAVE SPIDER MITES AGAIN!!!!! In the room and outside! They devastated our veggie garden, this summer... we used preymanthises, lady bugs, predator mites, with no luck... then we used seven, and other chemies that were ok for the veggie garden.... it wasn't like we were getting any veggies off it anyway.... I just want some kind of revenge, by now! We bought our tomatoes so I could can salsa... forget about growing them! I went to college and majored in ornamental horticulture.... and I am thinking about saving myself a whole lot of headaches and buying my herb.... or maybe selling my dream house, and moving, just to get away from these mites, and enjoy gardening again! Did you ever win the war against the lilt bastards?
