I am very unsure of what LED lights to get *HELP*

I may complete that ..

3x3= 400W > HLG-240H-48A + 10 2ft. F-series strips
4x4=600W > 2x HLG-185H-48A + 16 2ft. F-series strips
5x5 or 4x6 = 1000W > HLG-600H-48A + 24 2ft. F-series strips

If you take the 4footers or the double row strips you need only half as much.

I think if moneys not an problem (as op stated) there is no need to use anything but the most efficient lighting these days
:peace: happy new year - to all growers worldwide :peace:

to get the best for the money in 2018 - light/energy efficiency will stay an important factor.

Smarter light builds will have higher efficacy @ decreasing costs.

A high power lamp build will always produce an important amount of heat -
as i am a watercooler of led light, i know this will be a ~65-80% of the inverted electrical power.

We know that cool led light can increase light efficiency ~15%
- we drive our led chips @ low current and
use relativ expensive heat sinks and additional fan power to get a good heat management.

But aircooled led light imo lacks the ability to store the heat and use it in a smart way.

So aircooled led light can reach 20-35% light and energy efficiency...

...but light + heat cogeneration with a watercooled set up + heatexchanger can triple efficiency and reach ~85% energy efficacy.

Regardless of the type of led and driver you are going to use in a watercooled led lamp -
you can harvest up to 60% of your input power as hot service water in your household.

in the best way possible
With 1200W-1600W watercooled led lamps - @travis11952 - you are able to produce an amount of ~ 300-400L hot water every day .
If your grow room is close to bathroom or kitchen,...
or may be you want to use your watercooled led lamp
to heat your grow room during winter night...
may be you can substitute oil or gas water heating - and have green savings...of CO² + $
that makes your and everybodies electricity bill smaller - in concept of a more cost neutral set up.
In combination with pv- and/or wind power, e-mobility - it`s all you need for an autonomeous future: --- Electricity, light, hot water, heating during winter, weed + tomatoes, mobility....
if money is inverted in green tec - we all profit in the global race against climate change.

There are quite a few watercoolers here on RIU with different set ups ---> put "watercooled" in the search function above ^ and you can enjoy hours of interesting posts.

Watercooled led tec means DIY or prefabricated lamp builds that eg. can start @ 1600 US$ / real 1600W for 2 lamps(800W each), + meanwell drivers, + cree, citizen, samsung or any other standard chips + 300L heatexchanger / water boiler + paypal incl. -

Overkill. a HLG 550 is equal to 1000w hps, no way I would have 3 of them. More light is good, too much is really bad.
3 lights over two 4' by 8' tables. One light at one end, another in the middle, and one at the other end. Imagine the tables are laying together length or width wise

No disrespect to the old walk of life LED 3-watt Old School Technology introduced to us back 25 years ago and made for under a dollar people to this day so buy them 3 watt chip light being introduced to LEDs and turn away from them after one cycle of grow or one run because they do not do them Justice giving LEDs bad names

Looks like a good yield dabbs! And as for my earlier question your response does help thanks mate. Perhaps I should have asked; When you say cheap LED do you mean a cheaper branded or a Chinese knockoff? Might go with the mars unit.

Thx and yes final weight of that grow was a little over a lb

Who cares about yield if it's crap weed? All the blurple bud I've grown and smoked has been complete crap. If you only want to make easy money then yeah, sure, go with Mars Hydro or any other cheap eBay fixture. If you're going to be getting high on your own supply, then you'll surely appreciate the complex smells and flavors, interesting highs and beautiful, dense buds you get with just about any other light source. CMH if you want the best, COBs if you want the second best.

ps. working under white light is so much better.
I disagree agree I've grown some fire ass weed with blurpels but the yields are absolute trash. Epistar diods are a cancer of the LED community. I'd rather have 100 watts of cobs or pcbs than 300 watts of epistar garbage.

I've found the exact opposite to be true. First time grower got 300~ grams with a "300w" noname eBay blurple and 2x55w PL-Ls.

You've made it perfectly clear that you have no idea what you're talking about.

Obviously Mr. Lawrence you don't have a clue either

To the OP: Do yourself a favor and don't take advice from this Dabber character. get a 315, a quantum kit, or a kit from Timber.
And you my friend sometimes silence is the key to knowledge

I don't understand why some peeps like to tear down another growers way of growing when they should be helping them improve with what they have. Some people will never get what growing is all about.

If CHEAP LEDs want grow good weed than please explain this 30 day grow

PS. Before you 2 start I also have these so I know a little about lighting OK

shut up, man. stop recommending sub standard lighting. your plants look rough.

OP came here not knowing which led to buy, with a "money aint a thing" situation and you gave him terrible advice. he should deffo forget about buying the shit blurples.

Why did you buy a timber kit? because theyre better than those shitty fucking mars panels.

"silence the key to knowledge" - from the guy trying to flog junk...hilarious
"so I know a little about lighting OK" - correct

jog on
