hyper fan question

I'm looking at getting a new inline fan and was wondering how much louder an 8 inch is compared to a 6. I have decided to go with the hyper fan because I like the adjustable speed. Also are the stealth models worth the extra price? Thanks.

Obviously the 8" will be louder because it is moving more air. However, to me the difference is negligible. Problems arise when they r attached directly to the structure (wall, framing, ect); they tend to vibrate. Vibration can be negated by installing a buffer between fan and structure.

Thanks. I have mine mounted from the ceiling with bungie cords. I have a speed controller on it but when I turn it down I get a loud humming noise from the fan. I'm hoping since the hyper fans have been designed with a speed controller that it will not make that noise.

Always go big on lights and on air. If there is a question then always go bigger.

I've been using the HyperFan Stealth 8" for about six months and like it. Especially since it is in my bedroom closet. I have the carbon filter sitting vertically on a 5 gal bucket for support, and the fan mounted on top which exhausts outside.
