no..i mean hydro is easier,less mess,no insects.
My bad i thought u ment soil mate, What it needs is some1 with aload of Hydro and soil exp to comment. I know some1 who has grown for 20 yrs, (5 yrs in the dam) He does a table of 16, 3x 600w lights, With the full Canna nute program and pulls 50ozs of the cleanest tastiest weed iv ever toked on

soil is far better than hydro fuck growth rates why would i want a four foot plant that yields the same as a 1 1/2 to 2 feet my brother does aero and i do soil my buds are far better he runs 6 -8 plants per container when i put 6-8 plants in earth box i yield more bertter quality buds but his plants are way taller ush about double running sometime same strain same mother and thats with 400 watt light vs his 1000

your brother cant grow then , not only does hydro grow plants almost 3x faster but its a well known fact hyrdo blows soil yeilds out of sight.

Agreed, hydroponics is always going to better than soil.

The only reason you'de get the same yield if you did a soil grow would be if the plants genetics only allowed you to produce a fairly low amount of bud, or if you didn't know how to use the system properly.

Soil is old fashioned, hydroponics is the future.

Based on the grow journal in your signature, you should probably give hydro a try ;).

Ive done alot of soil grow's in my time, and ive done alot of hydro and it's always been the same result. Hydro not only produces faster but ALOT more. Some people use their own mix of soil's which i cant comment on, it work's for them. As for soil weed tasing better than hydro weed, reallly? Does it????????.
I have a one meter square room for flowering and using hydro i can only fit 2 plant's in there at a time(they get big), with soil i'd probably get 5 - 6 and waiting an 4 - 6 week's with extra veg time and flower time, and won't produce half of what it would from 1 plant grown in hydro?
I'm not saying soil is no good, just that hydro is more cost effective, faster, less waste and alot more rewarding.

2 months or so ago, when I finished my grow room, It didn't even cross my mind to grow on anything but hydro. Too much time spent making it weather tight and light reflectant to spoil everything with dirt. My system was pretty good to be honest with you, bubble circulated water, plants in hard plastic baskets in a mixture of lava rock and coco fiber. It went great at first. What finally got me was the lack of a RO filter, pretty hard water here, so ph tended to go up, tried distilled, purified, everything, vinegar, acids, perfectly lightight, I have all the testers, Root fucking rot, or stunt, or something, brownish and disgusting, not a nice thing to look at. Seriously depressed me. To save the smallest I used some h2o2, transplanted to soil, bubblelicious made it. I thought soil was going to be dirty but except from the yellowish residue water, that you wont get if you measure it rite, no dirt in there. The point is I was growing under 1000W hp MH hydro, now I'm under 400W HPS in soil, and getting, better, faster, growth. I've fixed the hydro system though, one girl is going on in there, taller! thinner? Huh, did I read somn like that?.. They're in the same room, same light 400hps, 300 halogen, 180w blue, humidity under 50 always temp under 80f always, fresh circulated air. Please follow my journal, I hope it'll settle this one out. Just got some promix for the pots, bought 15 rectangular 10 liter pots for the repotting, that by the way I dont see it as a pain in the ass at all, I thought we were growers, this is what we like, rite. Got some tobacco too to add to the mix for pests, i also have an electronic thing, I havent found a single insect in there, I microwave everything before it goes in there. Will use organic californian worm shit hungus or whatever called too. The best locally available hydro nutes for the hydro setup.
13 Hawaiian Mauis plus 1 Nirvana Bubblelicious SOIL VS 1 Hawaiian Maui Hydro in a 40 L res all for herself. We'll see.

Peace.

P.s. 10 l pots is not gonna be enough rite? Even if I use the very best shit and even probably some extra coco and rocks in there?
p.s.2. I saw a fertilizer 17.17.17 (soil) called extrasomething? good?

Damn is hydro really all that hard damn it's my first grow I'm doing one and just change res out once a week check ph before bed every night n top off...got light n pump on timer,... And I have 2 soils next to it...the soil starts out faster but after about a week hydro takes off and literally does circles around soil ...soil is really nice I like it just size wise hydro wins my stems are so freaking fat in my dwc compared to my 5 gallon buckets with soil

I have tried hydroponics and for the experience of it all am going with soil. I grow between three to six plants and changing out six 5 gal buckets takes time and the nutrients (Lucas Formulas, Dark Energy, Super Nova, Liquid Karma, H2O2, Sweet Berry) just for veg adds up fast. I think I will enjoy either method as it is a interesting hobby and the reward is some really decent buds.

I cant believe anyone could be so ignorant to say that hydro yields are 3-4 times greater than soil. That is just ridiculous.

Wow this thread is a blast from the past. Back in 2006 I sure didn't know what the hell I was talking about. I have since grown lots in hydro and most recently lots in soil. I am currently going back to hydro because it does outperform soil in my honest opinion.

3-4 times the yield was clearly because he had a bigger space and bigger lights (referencing old post). Hydro grows faster than soil and I can fit more plants in a smaller space with hydro, but there's no way I could triple my freakin' yield...lol.

Who the hell is dredging up threads from 2006!!! lol.
