I am wondering if using Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2 at 1 teaspoon per gallon as an algae preventive will harm the plants in any way/ like germination issues/ slow growth anything weird .
I have had algae issues before and want to know if this is a good thing or bad to do unless you have issues. I want to avoid any problems if it is safe . I am using 8 teaspoons to 8 gallons Thanks:bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint:

h2o2 is a free radical and it will kill off all nonorganic matter, then a surfactant is needed to stop the free radicals, Ivory soap I use a third of a bar for twenty gallon res.

There are lots of garden specific surfactants you can buy if you dont trust putting ivory soap or dish soap in your rez. Which you can do, and some people like it.

But I prefer dyna-grows protek. It does wonders for my root colonies. I used to use h2o2 but since you cant use any type of organic matter or enzymes I stopped using it. The bennefits of enzymes are remarkable- the inability to use them, makes it simply not worth it.

Using a garden brand surfactant (which includes more than just dish soap as they include supplemental micro nutrients) along with enzymes and benneficial bacteria works amazing for my DWC roots.

I use:
Advanced Nutrients Voodo Juice
Advanced Nutrients Pirhana
Advanced Nutrients Tarantuala
Either Advanced Nutrients Sensizym or Hygrozym
Protek
Mother Earth Botanticals Two part Tea

All at different stages of the grow, or throughout- inorder to feed my roots. Big roots+ better buds.

But I will admit that i keep a bottle of h2o2 at all times for emergencies should anything go wrong as it is a quicker fixer upper when used properly.

I also use it to clean out my rez's, airstones, and tubes at the end of each cycle.

Gotta agree with you on this one.

I'd be nervous to use dishsoap in my grow. That seems like it would hurt the plants, not help them. I mean, I understand why you might be using it, but I'm a big fan of using a full line of products specifically made for growing MJ.

I've actually never used the H2o2 in a grow since the AN seems to be working out fine once I got it dialed in.

But I'll try to keep some on hand from now on since you all have made some good cases as to why it might be good to have around.

(Fingers crossed I don't need it.)

Anyone else f---ing glad it's Friday?

You meant to say "kill all organic matter"!
