How's this male look as a pollen donor?

Hello folks of the interweb, Ive been growing for a few years now, and would like to try my hand at breeding.
A little info on my current grow:
Strains I am currently running include Humboldt Seed Org, Blue Dream (fem) X 4, Apothecary Genetics, Sour Diesel (reg) X2, and some freebie seeds, Samsara, Green Love Potion (fem) X 3, Delicious Seeds, Cheese Candy X2, Samsara, Holy Grail 69 (fem)
Seeds sprouted on 10/16/15. Vegged in solo cups under t5's. Once transplanted into 3 gal smart pots plants were put under a Sun System LEC 315W and the 4 ft 8 bulb t 5 light was then used for supplemental lighting. Topped all but 2 plants, lst'd a little, battled and beat Thrips, culled one Green Love Potion due to slow growth, plants then put into 7 gal smart pots and vegged until they all passed 2 ft.

Switched plants over to flowering 8 days ago (1/6/16).

6 days ago I noticed that Sour Diesel #1 (I number my plants based on which seed sprouts first) was showing signs of being a male. Soooooo, 2 days ago I got the little guy his own 2x2x5 tent, and 2ft 4 bulb t5 fluorescent light with red spectrum bulbs. Put him in there in another room separate from my females. My plan is grow him out long enough to collect pollen for some breeding. I plan to selectively pollinate the lower branches to preserve some quality nugs on the rest of the plant.
As such, here are my questions:

First, what do you think of this male Sour Diesel plant as a donor?
I like the structure, pretty tight internodal spacing, withstood pests, and has had no disease or nutrient deficiencies and has responded good to all nutrients. What do you think of him?

Another question, do you think I will be able to use this pollen on the ladies I have now that started flowering at the same time as this male?
I have read two theories: One states to pollinate females as early as possible, when the pistils are still white.
The other theory says to take the females flower time, which for all my strains is aprox 9 weeks, and subtract 4 weeks, which for my ladies would be around week 5.
Which of these theories is correct or do both work?

I would love to cross the Sour Diesel male with the Sour Diesel Female for a ton of pure Sour D seeds, as well as making some fun crosses with the other strains specifically my best 2 blue dreams as blue dream and sour d are 2 of my (many) favorite strains.

I pollinate my ladies around week 3-4, that way your seeds have plenty of time to fully mature. There is nothing wrong with this male, it does have nice side-branching and nice stout leaves =p Enjoy your sour dream babies <3

Thanks Cranston. And cool white bb. It's only been 4 days but here are pics from 2 minutes ago. I will continue to post pics and update this thread with my progress.
The smell on the male is super skunky, my wife described it as musty/skunky.
I'm also attaching some pics of the girls just for fun.

Tough call not being there. Mostly comes to your personal preference. I look at : 1 Rate of Maturity ,2 Physical appearance,3 Strength , 4 Resistance to hermi ,5 smell

Looks pretty good so far, but without any brothers and sisters to compare it's impossible to judge if it's a good pollen donor. Besides that the only way to know is grow out its female offspring.

Here is a pic at day 16 of flower. Shouldn't be much longer till they pop I think, maybe 4 or 5 days.
Keep the opinions rolling in.
I would flower it longer. It looks OK for general breeding.

The reason I say go a little longer is make sure its not going to throw pistils. I would also want to know flower time and resistance to pest and mold.

oh i plan to grow the off spring and let yall know how it goes in a seperate breeding project thread I will start after I collect the pollen.
I do have a pic of his sister I can share tonight.
Let tent stay at 80 percent rh for 3 days so I'd say good resistance to mold. No pests for the little guy either.

Saw pollen in my collectors when I got home from work. Collected a small amount maybe .025 grams if I had to guess. Like the tiniest little bumb. Put it in an open mason jar in my pantry with the lid halfway on so it could dry out. Made more levels of collectors, sprayed about a 6 ft radius around the tent with water just to kill any stray pollen in that seperate room. Bagged those clothes till laundry day, showered. Will collect again in 2 days.

Since you are only breeding for yourself there is no harm in trying. You have a male, you have females so go ahead and pollinate and see what happens. Once you grow out the offspring you'll know if you have something special or not. Now if you had many males and we're looking to do a specific breeding project it would be a different story. just make sure you allow enough time for the seeds to ripen, usually 3-4 weeks.

This guy's a producer! Dropping pollen everyday, and a lot of it. Getting as much in my jar as I can. Yes I know there are a few pieces of pollen sac in the jar but I am keeping it open in a large cabinet so there's no risk of mold.

My sour diesel, blue dream, and holy grail 69 ladies have 5 and a half weeks of flowering left so I plan on a applying pollen tomorrow. I will make a seperate thread for the breeding project and will add the link here.
