How will legalization of marijuana in Ca effect on growers?

The "Full Length" version of Prop 64 (all ten pages) says that the State wont be authorizing any "Official (State sanctioned Points of Sale" until January 2018. So you actually have over a year to plan ahead.

The prices, in legalized states, have dropped a little, but not that much really. Which kind of supprises me because I always thought the reason for the inflated price of Cannabis was because of the illegality issue.
What I'm seeing are collectives are adding cheaper lower grade weed rather than dropping the price of "private reserves". A lot of five dollar grams going around. The street has not changed their price at all. Still the same crap the lower price you go. Can't wait to see a change in the coming years.

In Oregon the price has dropped quite a bit. People who sold enough to supplement their income are now selling out of state to maintain their standard of living. The ones who didn't want to take that risk got out of the business. Another member here told me that dealers are still getting $10/gram, but in my experience in and around Portland, OR, prices on the black market have dropped considerably, up to 50%. What went for $12/gram 10 years ago now goes for $7.50-8/gram, what went for $10/gram now goes for as low as $5/gram. IME, YMMV

Yea that's exactly what I was worrying about. But every state is different I hope, only time will tell. Hopefully we still got another 2 years like T.H.Cammo said. I know this isn't the end of the green wave tho.. something bigger and better always come.

In Wa the black market prices have stayed about the same @ $10 gram.. While the rec stuff ranges from $10 - $20 gram plus tax.. I really don't pay attention anymore.. It's all big business now..

Oregon 2 years ago was $175 ish ounce.... now good stuff tightly trimmed $100.... Check craigslist and you will find it cheaper some days. There is a glut in the market right now so most of us are sitting on it until the demand is better..... shoot $125 would be fine right now.

That's crazy people are still charging 300+ an oz here the 100 dollar oz are so bad. Sometimes you get lucky.

the price the legal grower gets in WA is $2-3 per gram for 18% +. Stores double the price and add tax 37% now the price out the door is $7-10. Retail stores are doing great growers ok if they can keep the cost of production down.
