How to use bud blood?

Hey guys,

I'm looking for some advice on using AN Bud blood. I plan on starting flowering soon but I was going to give them a 24 or 36 hour dark period before flowering. Should I feed with bud blood before the dark period or wait until after the dark period or avoid the dark period all together?

I use bud blood when i turn the timer to 12/12. It will induce flowering very quickly. I usually see pistils within 3 or 4 days. I only use it once along with bloom nutes.

I don't see any reason why to do a longer dark period. Is it supposed to induce flowering faster?

Yes it is supposed to jump start flowering. Some people swear by it. I'm just wondering if the combination of the bud blood and the dark period would be too much. Also, It's purple kush, I heard rumours somewhere that kush strains didin't handle bud blood as well. Any truth to this?

no that will not be too much for your plants and there is no truth to kush strains not being able to handle this some of the more delicate ones might be affected but they would be fine as long as the ppm concentration is not too high for example an temperamental OG strain might only like 150ppm of bud blood with an overall ppm of 1000 for the first week of flowering as a hearty OG could take 300ppm of bud blood and an overall ppm of 1300 for the first week. it really depends on the strain as to how its going to be affected and as for purple kush it will take this in stride (providing its already a healthy plant)the dark period will not affect it nor will the bud blood in a bad way just make sure your ppm is not to high to start your fist week 1000 is a safe number 1200 slightly aggressive, but don't use to many additives and make sure your bud blood ppm never rises more than 200ppm when mixing nutrients(tip when mixing your bud blood put the required amount into a small empty bottle with a small amount of RO water shake the shit out of it and walla liquid bud blood red a hell)

what kind of lights do you run and did you change them between the darkness period?

I ran a 400 watt for first three weeks of veg and then a 1000 watt for the past week. 1000 watt is for flowering. All plants are between 11-17 inches, slightly lst'd. I decided to go for a 24 dark period and then start bud blood after the lights come back on.

Was the 400 w a metal halide or hps?

HPS I didn't have an mh bulb.
