buy chicken wire and wrap it around your ladies, also screen them nice and low so you can cover them all up. I use green paint on my wire screens :) camo baby

This is your best bet^ You could also use a floating row cover to keep other pests off them early in the season. After they gain maturity dear normally won't go after them as bad, unless they are really hungry:weed:.

p.s. I'm so stoned right now, and not a treat in the whole house. Munchies to the max.

20 pound fishing line works for me...deer hate it..other critters use pepper spray around plants..i dont put it on the plants just around...but if i use fish emulsion or bone meal i add it to the water for the roots...use hooootttt peppers not pepper sauce....make a mash with the peppers...if it makes u cough and gasph for air, it's ready and hot enough..

i heard you can tape a picture of fergie to the stalk and nothing will come close to it...
LOL.......I had issues with Deer last year so we grew some pumpkins and watermelons and that got there attention. Also we put up fishing lines and tied alum. cans to them so they made noise and spooked the deer.

liquid fence. its made near me and it stinks. and works even after it rains. also dont us can or glass or anything that helicoptors will see and think someone is hurt. it dont work anyway. dont us slat for slugs deer like it. boiling up water and throwing some hot peppers inn it for a few sec. and then take them out and let cool dont cook to long it takes the hot out. they and spray that on the plants it works good for bugs and mold also

chicken wire man. make a circle right around your plants. once they get 3-4 tall take them out. i like to put mine down when i fill the hole. that way the bottom like 3 inches is buried around the inside of the hole. ive used this method successfully for years as i learned it from a more experienced grower. work great and can say ive never had a deer problem and like yourself i have a ton of deer as well. not far from you. dont use liquid fence it will bring in other pests. coyotes, skunks, possum, coon all them little fuckers. given the chance they will do just as much if not more damage then deer. i promise you that. i tried it last year on a couple plants in seperate locations and sure as shit it only tooks a couple weeks and they were completely dug up. roots and all. ya sure it may have been stuff in the soil too, but that fence im positve called them in. I am a pretty big trapper. hit it hard every year. i know where to put them to stay away from furbearers. so i can say with confidence this liquid fence called them in. the soil alone will not do that. if so,? why aint i ever had any problems with other plants? the chicken wire will deter them to an extent but if they are curious enough it aint gonna do shit to stop them. on occasion ive had them dig around a little on the outside edge of the chicken wire but thats why i put just enough soil on the outside edge so they can get their taste and move along.

to be honest man...just have to plant more plants and if the deer get some you deal with it..... i have never used wire or fence or anything because i like my plants to blend in with the landscape... fences and wire and fishing line can be seen and draw someone closer to take a look in my opinion..... i been pretty lucky the last 4 or 5 years with deer...i plant late so ther eis already plenty of vegetation to eat and they usually stay away from my stuff ....i also use neem ...imagine the deer would not like the smell..

do you have a dog? Is it male? if not can you find a male dog...if you don't have a dog perhaps you can go adopt one...or pick up a stray on the way home one day or something, but put a few sticks around your plants and then bring a male dog around...male dog urine is safe for plants in this application and keeps away most wildlife...did you know that only female dog urine makes those dead spots on the grass in people's yards? We have a tiny male dog, and a big male dog and anything outside gets a healthy dose of male dog urine, so even though we have opossums, and rabbits, and deer and all manner of what not...nothing will get near the garden because of the urine covered stakes in the ground...not for peeing, but for plant support and the dogs just are bent on peeing on anything at all sticking out of the ground..anyway short story long dogs are predators and their urine scares away most wild animals...

OMG..why not just plant a small patch of something deer like more than MJ to snack on...? and then let a dog pee in your garden and not in the deer patch?
