How to Grow the BIGGEST buds EVER!!!

I see it on here all the time where people are doing all kinds of crazy things to get their plants to turn purple. Evidently the kiddies like purple.:dunce:

Number one, I'm 28 years old... no kid here.

Number two, I personally could care less what color my plants/buds are.. as long as it tastes good.. and has a good high/stone to it.. I'm good.

That's all I worry about.. I don't try to change the color of my buds/plants by trying all these weird crazy methods.

But, I will say.. the main reason most plants turn a purple-ish color or hue... is because of cool temps during the night.. and usually the plants that

turn color such as a purple-ish color... are the ones that are grown outdoors.. where there's a good size gap between day time temps.. and night

time temps.

But yeah, anyhow.. I don't care what color the buds become.. makes no difference to me. Most people just like it.. because of the "bag appeal"

the buds give off. That doesn't matter to me.. like I said.. all that matters to me.. is the bud tastes good.. smells good.. and has a good high and

stone to it. That's all the I look for when it comes to buds. ;)

anyhow, that's my 2cents worth on the subject.

peace.

Got a basic question, why would anyone want or strive for purple buds? I guess if you're a commercial grower and you've duped your clientele into believing that purple buds are more potent or is a better smoke or whatever, then it makes sense. Kinda unethical, but it's all about the money when it comes to the pot industry. My friend still buys high grade Mexican pot for $625/lb, sells it for $50 - 100 an ounce.

I dont even think it has anything to do with duping the customers into thinking its somehow better. They just think purple=good, and will gladly pay extra for it. I dont know where they got this from.

I think part of it is a novelty factor. We've all had our share of green bud, but when something different comes along many people will pay extra just to try it.

Who said anything about duping a customer....it's interesting to see what does what to a plant...Besides that, it would be interesting to see the same herb in 2 different colors and see if it changes flavor, taste or whatever....I keep kind of a little collection of different strains I've grown and this would be a nice collection to it...besides, how could it hurt the plant with a few days to go before chopping?

Well if ur in the business, and there is a high demand for it, which there is...why wouldn't you try to make it purple and get top dollar for it!

Exactly...If someone wants a purple version of something and you're able to provide that without compromising much, why wouldn't you? Also, haven't really seen someone pay more for something just because it's purple...they may buy it to try it but I don't think they're going to pay more just for the color....again, you're not duping no one...

It's supply and demand in it's most basic form

Ok, first off, I wasn't addressing you, but since you were compelled to respond I'll play along. I get why people like purple buds. I was simply making a humorous statement in response to Uncle Ben's statement. I'm with you on the quality thing. I want dank nugs, period! Bag appeal is important to me but I find it interesting to see all of these threads with people actually trying to get their buds to turn pruple. I saw one the other day with somebody telling some noob to water with ice water the last 2 weeks! Yikes!:o I try my best not to stress my plants, but that's just me. My focus is to keep things as simple as possible and to mimic nature as best I can. In return I harvest some pretty damn good weed. I grow blueberry so I get purple buds but not because I drop my night time temps or use some color enhancer. When they dry and cure the purple is hardly noticeable anyway so I never really understood the fascination I guess. :?

I own a sativa dominant purple strain and most people prefer the indica strain for the narcotic couch-lock effect. Color only goes so far.

I bought a bag of purple weed and I have to say it sucked, maybe I got some crappy strain someone grew but the purple buds dont impress me,I"ll stick to my green,I cant see spending time or money just to make a plant purple,I guess it keeps the kids interisted though.
